Upgrade OceanView to Family Verandah

Hi,


We are currently booked in a 9b, Ocean View and I am hoping there are Family Verandahs 4b available when we check in at port (with less 3wks left there are 18 cabins available) as I would like to surprise the family and upgrade at port. We are sailing on the Magic from Nyc.

I have a budget in mind of what I am willing to pay for such an upgrade but have no idea if it is realistic or not. Currently if we were to upgrade it would be about $1,500. So my question is does anyway have an idea what such an upgrade at port may generally cost?

It definitely would be less than upgrading beforehand but you take the risk of there not being availability at the port.

But in case you don't know, if you upgrade now you don't compare it to what it is now but to what it was then. Or something like that. Don't compare to the current price and just subtract what you paid.

Right. To upgrade the room now (as in they are still taking the same cruise, just a different room) they will be paying the difference between what they paid for their original (Oceanview) reservation and the price of the verandah on the day they made the original booking.

If you truly want a different room, change now. The last 2 cruises I went on were sold out and there weren't any upgrades available at the port.
