Upgrade now to waterview?

I have already upgraded our room to concierge (the visa deal makes it pretty inexpensive) Do I need to upgrade to waterview now or hope for a complimentary one at check-in? I don't know how much time we will spend in our room, but I hate to miss out on something!

I keep thinking that it is only a little more money here and there but in the end it is a pretty expensive hotel room.($530.00 at rack rates,$300 with the 7/4 deal) Is the view worth the extra money? Thanks

I would ask myself these questions - How often do you intend to Disney? If this may be your only trip or it may be years before you go again it may be nice to splurge and have a great view. How much is the difference in cost? If it is several hundred dollars, that is alot of dinners & Mickey treats. How much time do you intend to spend in your room looking out the window? Can you afford the difference in price? If you are not in your room long enough to enjoy sitting and looking at the view, I do not think it is worth alot of extra money. Unless I am at the AKL, I usually book standard view because I am not in the room long enough to sit and enjoy the view. Usually for the diffrence in price, I can stay an extra night and I would rather stay an extra day than have a great view. I don't know much about the Yacht Club but hopefully some people who have stayed concierge can tell you what to expect if you don't book water view and maybe that will also help you decide. I hope your first trip to Disney is full of Disney magic for you.

Thanks for your reply. I am hoping this will be the first of many trips to WDW. My husband, however, loves to go to different places every year.

You are right that I need to hear from someone who has stayed Yacht Club concierge to know if the waterview is worth the extra$. I think we can afford it , but I have always had a hard time spending money. I think about what else we could be spending it on! Thanks again for your thoughts!

We stayed in a waterview concierge room at the YC, and frankly, we weren't impressed. We booked bc concierge for July, and chose standardview over waterview, we didn't the the cost was justified at the BW/BC/YC.
