Upgrade Dining Plan on Checkin

Hi there. I am renting DVC points for a one night stay in October at the Boardwalk. I worked it out through the owner to get the DDP. Initially, our flight was to arrive at 11pm and I was going to use the dining plan into the next day when I check into the Dolphin. But my flight was moved up to 4pm, and now I have another meal to cover. So here's my question:

Can I updgrade the DDP to DDDP on my checkin to the Boardwalk? In other words can I wait until the last second to decide? Or do I have to do the upgrade through the DVC owner?

You have to pay in full before you get there. It needs to be added and paid in full 45 days in advance. Thanks.

There is no way to add or upgrade a dining plan at checkin.

On a package reservation, changes to a package are not allowed any later than 72 hours before check-in. If you add or upgrade less than 45 days before check-in, you must pay for the addition or upgrade in full at the time you add it.

On a DVC reservation, the dining plan must be added to the reservation no later than 48 hours prior to check-in, and it must be paid in full at the time it is added to the reservation.


If you are renting DVC points, everything you do to the reservation must be done by the DVC member. You will have to get in touch with the member and ask them to upgrade your plan. The member will be required to pay for the upgrade as soon as they add it, so you should have a method of paying the member. I've seen suggestions that the renter give the member their credit card number so they can use it to pay for the dining, but not everyone will be comfortable with that, and rightly so.
