Upgrade at Port

We are interested in upgrading (if available) at port from an oceanview to a verandah. For those who have done this, what was the cost for the upgrade?

The general consensus is that the discount is not generally that great when going from standard to standard vs. a standard to concierge. That being said by all means check when you get there and decide for yourself. No one has ever gotten a good look at the magical chart that they use to calculate the price difference. Personally I think it is different for each cruise.

You will first check-in and once that is complete go to the supervisor's desk. There may be no upgrades available and if that is the case, there will be a sign saying the ship is full. If upgrades are available, the CM at the supervisor's desk will give you a price based on a variety of factors. It is hard t predict how much the cost might be.

Going from Standard Inside to Verandah cost us $300 for a 3 night on the Dream.

On a 3 night Dream, we went from inside room to concierge veranda for $700.

As someone said, do check into your booked room first and then approach the supervisor's desk. They will not be able to price or check for an upgrade without having done this first.

We did it in 2016 and went from a ocean view to veranda for $400 for a 7 night on the Magic. As stated above, it depends on availability and cruise and levels of upgrade. We got lucky on that Magic cruise. (Okay, I always feel lucky when I am on one of the ships)
We cruised 4 weeks ago on the Fantasy and there were no upgrades. My DW asked even though I told her we were not going to upgrade as we had chosen a different styled room and I wanted to see what it was like.
