Upgrade AP to get around Christmas blockout

So we have Power passes that expire in January, and we will most likely not be renewing this time. We were planning on a last minute trip to Uni the week prior to Christmas, arriving on 12/16/21. Is it possible for us to upgrade our annual passes for the approximate $50 to the next level pass to avoid the blockout for Christmas? If not, we will just stay at the hotel using AP rates and only go to the parks on 12/16 and go elsewhere for the rest of the trip. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, you can call and upgrade. You will have to pay the full price difference between the two passes. There is no prorating.

Upgrading is super easy. You can even do it at a hotel (UO hotel or offsite partner hotel) with no lines. I just upgraded to preferred for the free parking. Now that parking is $27, I saved money on my upgrade vs paying for the parking.
