upgrade after you have your stateroom #?

has that happen to anyone? and can you turn it down, if you just want to stay where you're at? am just curious...

Whenever upgrades happen this comes up. There is no rhyme or reason to someone getting an upgrade from DCL. If you have a full ship, the chances are great that you will not get one. Usually during peak times there are no upgrades. You will hear from some who had a gty who got an upgrade and others with assigned rooms who got them too. We were lucky enough to be upgraded from an 11 to an 8 on our first cruise. We booked over a year in advance & picked our stateroom out when we booked. I found out when we paid the balance that we had been upgraded. Now someone who just booked a short time ago just got upgraded so that blows the booking early idea. We have learned to just book what we will be happy with. If it happens...GREAT! If not...still great.

I wonder if anyone has been taken out of a SPH and upgraded to a Cat 7 or above. Anyone?

We got a call yesterday and were upgraded from a cat. 9 to a cat. 6 for the june 4 west coast sail. I don't know why we were picked, but I think the reason they do it is because if they offer the cheaper rooms at the end they are more likely to be sold. After I got the call I checked the DCL website and now cat. 9, 10, 11 ,12 are open again. That is the only thing I can think of. I feel very lucky because we only booked three weeks ago.

we just got our upgrade yesterday,kind of a pain because everything has our old room number but looking forward to the free balcony!!!!!!!!!!we leave saturday,cant wait
