I really enjoyed using the nifty fifty last year at WDW, but I felt if it was just a bit faster I would have got more from it.
This year (breaking news
) I have just booked for Christmas YAY!!
We are going 3 weeks from Dec 8-Dec 30th. Ive been at this time of year a couple of times before and the weather can be a bit gloomy and obviously, it gets dark earlier than the summer, so Im thinking I'll be using my faster lenses even more! Im seriously considering trading in my f/1.8 for the f/1.4 - its about another $300 and Im wondering whether its worth it or not??
The alternative is to buy the 85mm f/1.8, which is a bit dearer - gives me more reach no more speed.
I intend to take my tripod for "static" shots - so Im happy to use slower lenses for that - the 50mm I found using for handheld stuff, like dark rides, Spectro and low light candids.
Any advice?? My camera is a Canon 30D by the way.
