Upgrade 1-day ticket?

I know about upgrading tickets to annual passes at Disney, but can you do the same thing at Universal? We have 1-day tickets that we plan to upgrade to passes when we arrive.

We have the 7 day tickets that were $99 that I bought in January. Do I need to updrade them to AP's before I use them the first day?

You don't have to upgrade before you use them...just do it before you leave the park on the first day.
