UPDATED! Southwest prices for end of January - Do you think they will go down?

QUOTE=summerrluvv;34984814]So I just happened to be checking my flight prices online a few minutes ago and the fares went down a lot! I got $74 down and $103 coming back. Saved a total of $199 that I can use for a future trip ;) Not bad for travel that is less than 2 weeks out![/QUOTE]

Congrats on the rates going down for you. I wish they would go down for me. We were waiting but when talk of oil prices raising startede I booked (last week) 3 round trip tickets from MHT to MCO $1924 :scared1: We are flying at during Feb vacation (2/13- 2/21) but geez

:scared1: is right!!! WOW!!! $1924 for 3?! YOWZERS!

I always fly SW from Manchester, NH to Orlando every July - usually for $70-$85 pp. This year the prices were $127. I was going to wait it out but Jet Blue was $89 pp both ways out of Logan. As much as I'd prefer to fly out of Manchester, I decided to jump on the Jet Blue rate. Now that I have, I am actullay looking forward to everyone having their own tv, xm radio and free wireless. It should make the flight go by faster. Plus the first bags are free and that is all that we need.

WOW! That's crazy money. Especially for SW. Did you look at JB out of Logan? Around the same time for 3 it was under $1400

We did look into JetBlue but the times/dates we were looking to get made it over $2000 plus we'd rather deal with Manchester, so much easier. They are refundable tickets (that's all they pretty much had besides business) so if prices come down or we find something cheaper we can cancel. Flying US Airways would have been a bit cheaper out of MHT but when you add in the bag fee's it brought it really close. I'd rather pay a little more for a direct flight than save $100 and deal with layovers. My youngest DS is 23 months and we are dreading the flight with him...he's always on the go LOL

Wow. Airfare is nuts. We are heading down in 2011 for February vacation. Hope it isn't like this then. I agree that MHT is much easier than Logan. We love MHT, but we also like JB, so we deal with Logan to fly JB. We are looking forward to when they finally come to MHT. Almost happened a few years ago, but went to Portland instead. Some day. Good luck and hope you have a great time!

Seeing as you are already planning the trip you'll probably get decent rates when they first come out. We didn't decide until October that we would go and by that time the rate was already high. They were a little lower but I was waiting and hoping they'd go down more and never did.

Looks like some of the rates dipped yesterday. Last night when I clicked on the rate, it wouldn't book it, told me to "call in" and that the fare had "changed" and showed me a higher price. Argh! Best to check earlier in the day I guess! Seems I just missed a lower fare.
