**UPDATED NEW VMK Gaming Area at Disneyland NEW Photos Added!!

Interesting... I'll have to head over there "soon" and check out the new stations...

I will be there tomorrow!!! WOOT!!! And will report.

I went to the VMK store in WDW about a week before it closed.

There they had these terminals with stainless steel keyboards kinda like these

the units were pretty wore out looking and a couple were filthy looking on the areas beside the keyboard.

Employee working in there in the morning though was great real nice fellow helped with any questions and even gave us a couple extra cards. The folks in the afternoon they were ok but not nearly as nice made some comments like you have had 2 years to get the cards when asked some in a display and it was too late now.

Makes you think they were not thrilled the closing and with the prospects of working somewhere else in the park.

My kids play VMK and when we went to WDW this weekend it was closed. What happened. I told them I would jump on the boards to find out if it would reopen or move to a new location? Thanks

VMK Central closed September 30th.

IMHO they really had not figured out how to position/market the area. They should have had the VMK merchandise, and things like VMK clothes, let you get a VMK custom name tag, VMK lanyard, how about a vmk T shirt with your name on it? Maybe a mickey/vmk shirt, stuff like that.

Instead it was HSM, POTC and my PAL mickey.

I suspect the shop made no money at all. They should have merged it with town hall as a service area.

anyone else happen to notice taht all the pics on the banner are from the TCG maybe it will have some kind of release there and in WDW ( if a vmk station is made there ) but anyone else happen to notice all those TCG pictures??? the Mr.Toads Car, Figment Costume, Monters Inc Hat etc

Hi,

Updated post with 3 new pictures from StitchMad.

Bug

Hi all - I was there on Thursday (yesterday), and the three computers were there - no chairs to sit on, so just stand and try to use their cheesy mouse (ball type) - took a LONG while to load, etc., and while I was making two characters, several people came to the monitors and looked at stuff, but only one other pair of people did anything - and they turned out to be a dad and son (late teens) who had played since day one - they had not been on for about two weeks though. There were no real instructions and people were discouraged. Also, these computers are stuffed off to the side and kind of back aways from the main walkway. Whole area in construction mode, though. The posters were cool.

As to other stuff- Pooh corner candy lady said she hadn't had cards to give "for three months." Nemo guy had to go away for about 4 minutes while I stood by the exit and waited for him to give me one middle section card. The rest of my party forgot to ask!! (aggghhhh!!!)

That's all I checked!

I thought they were getting rid of VMK acccess at the parks all together. Am I wrong on this?

i hope they do something like this or better in wdw. i was going to disneyland this summer but we had to cancel because of some school issues:mad:
