Wow!!! Just found this terrific trip report! Thanks so much for all of the pics! I feel like I am there seeing all of the sites! :cloud9:

Hi
Thanks for sharing. I think this is one of the best trip reports I've ever read!! And I love all the pictures. My DH is at the Masters Golf Tournament in Georgia and I'm home by myself, so this has been so entertaining. I'm really enjoying it. It looks like you had a great time! I also wanted to tell you that your dogs are so cute. My DD has a beagle that she adopted and she's such a great dog.
Joan

I loved your trip report! Especially the AK part! I will be there on the 13th! How do you do the pressed penny thing?

Loving your report- sounds like you had a great trip! Please give us more "Wendy" details- that Peter was the highlight of my sons' trip last year. It must have been such a great experience....;)

Actually, I had my pictures posted on Snapfish. They won't let you link your pictures directly so I had to upload the pictures I wanted to use in this TR to the photo gallery on this website. It didn't take long at all for most of the pictures to load. For some reason, the pictures I took at the Blizzard Beach w/ the water camera were larger so I had to resize most of them before uploading them. I have heard that photobucket works well and you can directly link the pictures right into your post. I just always order prints from Snapfish so that is where mine were located.

Thanks for reading and the compliments on my dogs! They are our babies and we love them so much. We may actually be adopting another beagle this week. Funnily enough, my husband opened the paper yesterday and there was a beagle on the ad for the Metro Animal Shelter and she looked just like our beagle Grady! I told him that we had to go get her so he may be going to see about her today!

The pressed penny machines are everywhere, in practically every ride and shop. Here is a link to a list of all the pressed penny machines:

http://www.presscoins.com/Listings/WDWChecklist.pdf

You just insert a penny and two quarters and it pops out a pressed penny. The shiny pennies work the best and you can see the imprint better. The book cost about $7 at World of Disney I think. It is a great thing to collect and pretty cheap too, compared to pins, which I also collect. :goodvibes

I love pictures & the 2 updates a day:cool1: ! What happend to your bags...you left us hanging....

Sorry, I guess that was a bit confusing and I did leave you hanging. The bags made it safely into the car, something happens later in the night that is the reason I regret parking the car at the Marketplace. Stay tuned!

Hey guys! I had to go out of town this weekend and I have not been feeling well today:sick: , but I will try to get the next installment up soon. Stick with me!

Okay, so we had just gotten some ice cream at Ghiradelli's. Now, by this time it was almost 10:00, so we went into Guest Relations to ask what time DQ closed. They closed at midnight so we decided to go on w/ the original plan of going there. Our shopping and ice cream eating had taken longer than we thought. :)

We walke the extremely LONG way over to DQ and went inside. We were thinking that it wouldn't be very crowded due to how late it was but there were still a lot of people in there. We headed for the Aladdin Magic Carpet Ride first. I remember thinking this was a cool game back when I played it in 2002, now not so much.:confused3

From there we did the Jungle Cruise, which was fun and the Buzz Lightyear bumper cars where you shoot people. Now, Nancy had to ride by herself because there were three of us. Heather and I rode together, I was the driver and she was the loader/shooter. We kicked Nancy's butt! It really wasn't fair though, cause she had to be her own driver, loader, and shooter! LOL, she had a hard time :rotfl2: .

Us on the Jungle Cruise:

We did the Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam, which I just did not get. I did a lot of moving back and forth and it didn't seem to help where my ball went at all. We raced in the Daytona 500, I got 2nd the first time and 4th the next time. Nancy won the last game. It was funny because there was a group of older men with their sons playing with us and we beat all of them! Say what you will about women drivers.....

We were running out of time but we really wanted to do the Pirates of the Caribbean before we left. We got in line, but I could tell something was wrong with Heather, she had been quiet for about 30 minutes. She didn't look so good either. Remember earlier what I said about the sun and water wearing you out? Well, she had had it. The culmination of the water park, shopping, and DQ just about took her out. She said that she needed to sit down. Since it was almost closing anyway, Nancy and I got out of line with her and sat with her on a bench for a few minutes until she felt better to leave. I was concerned :guilty: for her hoping that it would pass. She looked about ready to cry when she realized how far away the car was parked (all the way back at the Marketplace). I volunteered to go get the car while Nancy stayed with Heather to make sure she was alright and told them that I would pick them up right outside of DQ. Boy, that was a LONG walk back!

I was pretty tired by this point to. By the time I got the car and picked them up, Heather was feeling better and a little silly for having a mini meltdown. I told her not to worry about it, that I have them all the time. ;)

We got back to the apartment around 12:30 and crashed for the night. The next day Heather was taking Nancy to meet her mom in Seminole then meeting me at the MK. It was my last day in Orlando, and I planned to go to MGM to ride Rock n Roller Coaster and then on to MK!

I promise to have LOTS of pictures for tomorrow!

Another great installment

Hope you are feeling better

Looking forward to the picture update

Day 6: March 18, 2007 My last day in Disney! :sad1: MGM and Magic Kingdom

Okay, as promised this day's report will be mostly pictures!

We woke up early this morning, Heather and Nancy left about the same time I did (around 8:15 am) so that Nancy could meet her mom in Seminole. I said goodbye to Nancy, this was sad because I don't know when I will get to see her again. Hopefully it will not be too long!

I packed up all my bags in my Saturn rental car so that I could leave straight from the MK that evening and drive to the airport. My flight didn't leave until 8:45 pm.

First stop, MGM! I really wanted to ride RnRC. After watching the cute opening show, I walked fast to RnRC, along with half the crowd. I only waited about 5 minutes for the ride and I was in line next to a cute family from Tennessee.

86553ds2.jpg

Great ride! After RnRC, I decided just to see what the wait for ToT was. Practically nothing! I think I waited 10-12 minutes.

86553ds4.jpg

I love the theming of this ride. My hidden mickey book told me that these glasses were bent in the shape of a hidden micky in the lobby. What do you think?

86553ds3.jpg

I did those rides in about 30 minutes time so it was only 9:30 am. I had planned to head over to the MK at 10:00 am to meet Heather. That meant I had just enough time for...

I love this ride! I know it is old and the story line is tired, but I hope they never get rid of it. They could change the story though. Most of these pics are dark because as you know there is no flash photography.

86553ds9.jpg

Heather called right as I was exiting TGMR. Perfect timing! She was about 30 minutes away from the MK. I bid farewell to MGM and started toward the MK. I couldn't believe that I had saved MK for my last day, but save the best for last right?

86553mk1.jpg

I waited on Heather to arrive for a few minutes and people watched. Then we took some photopass pics in front of the castle. This is a horrible pic of me but...
86553mk2.jpg

The other ones the photographer took all turned out crooked. Go figure.

Up next, the rest of MK!

I have never noticed the dusty glasses on ToT but hmmm.. I'm thinking that's a stretch for a Hidden Mickey. What did you think when you saw it?

I love Great Movie Ride, too, but missed it on my last trip. I think I was seeing Lightning McQueen and Tow-Mater while most of the crew rode.

I love your pics and story!

We really wanted to ride Splash and BTMRR, so we went into Liberty Square in the direction of Frontierland. Along the way we met these guys

86553mk4.jpg

86553mk3.jpg

86553mk5.jpg

I think this is one of the new things they brought on due to the Year of a Million Dreams celebration. It was really cute to watch Woody and Jesse and their friends dance down Frontierland.

By the way, this is a side note: I saw the Dream Team practically every day I was in the parks (except for BB), and they were very friendly and nice and even said hi and happy birthday! on my birthday. But I got nothing. Dang nab it! Becky and I were talking about starting a company called rent a kid. You know people get tired of their kids for a few hours a day, let someone nice like me (reference checked) take them to WDW for a few hours to gain points with the dream team. And then return them later in the day, everyone's happy! This is silly of course, but I really thought that I might get something on my birthday if I would have had a cute kid with me. ;) Becky was wanting this because evidently there are rides at Island of Adventure that you can't ride unless you have a kid. :confused3

Sorry about that. We arrived at Splash Mountain and there was a 20 minute wait. Not bad.

86553mk6.jpg

This is one of Heather's favorite rides, and mine too. It just makes you feel happy ya know?

86553mk9.jpg

Oh, I forgot. We had gotten fastpasses for BTMRR before we rode Splash. It wasn't time for them yet and it was getting lunchtime so we ate lunch at Peco's Bills. Pretty yum. I had the cheeseburger and fries. I was so hungry, I forgot to take a picture!

On to...
86553mk7.jpg

Heather
86553mk8.jpg

It's so pretty...
86553mk13.jpg

This ride was a little rough. Has it always been that way? I hadn't rode it in a long time, but it was fun nonetheless.

I wanted to check PoTC, since the rehab so we headed there. A 30 minute wait , but I think we waited more around 20 minutes. The lines and crowds weren't nearly as bad as I expected on this day, it was a Sunday so I guess a lot of people were going home.

86553mk11.jpg

I loved the new updates. Sadly, Wendy was not out visiting with Peter Pan and the line for Pan was long, so I bypassed him. I did give him a little wave though. :wave2:

Okay, get ready for this. I've never rode the Jungle Cruise. Yes, in all my travels to WDW, I have never experienced this attraction. It just always get pushed aside to make room for other things, unfortunately that happened this time too. We got fastpasses so we could go back at the end of the day, but we never made it. :sad1: This is on my must do list for November.

Remember this?
86553mk12.jpg

I loved the show they used to have in there. Bring it back please!!!

Up next, Haunted Mansion, Mickey, and a proposal (not mine)...

Okay, those glasses for sure can't be a Hidden Mickey...

Or am I missing something?

Splash was being refurbished when I was there in January. Is there anything different about it?

If you see them from a certain angle it is definitely a hidden Mickey. Someone posted a picture when he went with his daughter and you could see it really well there.

I was thinking the same thing, if I would have taken the picture when I went on around the queue area I think it would have turned out better. I had people waiting behind me who were wondering what this weird girl with her camera was zooming in on (non Disers), so I felt pressured to move along. :goodvibes

Okay, so we had just gotten FP for Jungle Cruise (which we would never use, but I didn't know that then) and were headed for the Haunted Mansion. I love this ride and the theminig. I have a thing for old creepy looking mansion.

86553mk16.jpg

86553mk15.jpg

We waited in a long line that moved very quickly. A few pics from the queue:

86553mk18.jpg

86553mk14.jpg

Ever notice the pet cemetary when leaving HM? I pointed it out to Heather who had never saw it.
86553mk21.jpg

Hidden mickey! This my favorite one of the HM I found on this trip. Pretty clever huh?
86553mk19.jpg

We walked through Fantasyland and aghhhhh!!!!!!!! THIS is where all the people were. Were there weren't people there were....strollers. Everywhere without babies in them. Just parked. Kind of eerie, where were all the babies????? Just kidding, I know they were in the rides, but really Fantasyland should have better stroller parking. The area outside of the queue for each ride is not optimal stroller parking. Just my .02. This is not to offend any moms/dads w/ strollers, it is not your fault that they do not have adequate stroller parking.

I was pumped to watch Mickey's Philharmagic!

86553mk20.jpg

I watched this last June on a one day trip and loved it! Here I am waiting to enter the theatre.
86553mk22.jpg

We wanted to meet Mickey next so Toontown was next! I spotted this guy on the way to Mickey's house.

86553mk23.jpg

Mickey's farmhouse
86553mk24.jpg

The Big Cheese himself
86553mk26.jpg

Yay! I got to meet Mickey this trip. He was pretty subdued, but always the gentleman. :goodvibes

Next, up Heather and I head to Tomorrowland and the proposal!

After meeting Mickey, we checked the stand by line at Space Mtn. but it was about 45 minutes, and that is not Heather's favorite ride anyway. We decided to bypass it and went to check out the Carousel of Progress.

86553mk28.jpg

It was closed, due to technical difficulties! :sad2: I really wanted to hear "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow!!!!!". It was not to be.

Not to drown in my sorrows we saw that the Laugh Floor Comedy was open! I remember on reading on the Dis that it wasn't supposed to be open until April and I thought I would miss it. Yay!

86553mk27.jpg

Warning: If you have not experienced this attraction there are SPOILERS ahead.

86553mk29.jpg

86553mk30.jpg

86553mk31.jpg

I thought the show was pretty cute, but not as good as Turtle Talk at Epcot, which seems to be the general consensus of everyone here on the Dis that has experienced it. The show I watched picked on adults more than the kids and the jokes kind of fell flat although a few were quite funny.

The more you laugh the higher the barometer/whistle type thing gets and when it gets to the top it starts spewing the fog stuff seen in the pictures. The show was actually pretty short and I am glad we didn't have to wait in line. I was glad that I got to see it, but it will surely not be a "must do" for me.

It was getting late, so we were going to catch the late showing of the Dream Along With Mickey show at the Castle Forecourt. Some pics of the castle from the Tomorrowland bridge.
86553mk32.jpg

86553mk33.jpg

86553mk35.jpg

Okay, in the picture above, do you see the two guys walking toward the castle, one has an orange shirt on? We saw them get engaged!

We just kind of walked up on it. We wanted to get our picture taken w/ the castle in the background, and not with all the people in it. You know the path that leads down to the Rose Garden

86553mk34.jpg

There is a little alcove thing where we wanted our pictures taken, when we were walking up we notied the photpass photographer taking pictures of this couple like mad. Then it hit me that one of the guys was down on one knee and the other guy was crying. Now, right or wrong you don't see that everyday in Alabama, so it didn't register at first. The everyone started clapping! I felt a little intrusive to have walked up on someone's private moment like that, but I thought "what a special way to be proposed to" and I was happy for them.

Our pic
86553mk36.jpg

Somehow in all the hooplas, I lost my photopass card!!! Aghhh! I was looking for it because I wanted a picture by the Walt statue and it was gone! We went back to ask the photographer by the castle if she had seen it (I remember her giving it back to me) and she said she hadn't. But she did tell us that our photopass cards should be linked because we had some of the same pictures on there and we could go to the camera center on the way out of the park to have all of my pictures transferred onto another card for mer. Whew!

We watched the Dream Along with Mickey show, which I thought was extremely cute. I love the Dream outfits!

86553mk38.jpg

86553mk39.jpg

86553mk40.jpg

Cut a rug Mickey!

Sadly, this is where we started making our way out of the park. Snuck into the Emporium where I bought a CD of all the WDW music (Splash mtn, Haunted mansion, Soarin, Indian Jones, etc.) to keep the magic alive. :sad1:

We did stop by the camera center and they were able to retrieve my pictures, thank goodness. I didn't buy any there but I did purchase two when I got home. I didn't have enough pictures to make buying the whole CD worthwhile.

Miraculously, I made it out of WDW and straight to the airport without getting lost, it had been 5 years since I had driven in Orlando, but I guess you don't forget some things. My flight was delayed about 30 minutes (Delta) but I got home to Alabama around 11:30 pm. I have another trip planned in November, if I don't cancel it and decide to book free dining in either Aug.:scratchin or Sept. first.

Thanks again for reading guys! I will update this thread when I get in the pics from Heather and when I FINALLY upload the video of the mariachi band in Mexico.
