I know I’m in the minority here, but two of my favorite DCL dishes are on the pirate menu - the Braised Barbecue Beef Rib Salad and the Shanghaied Noodle Stir-fry. Hope they don’t get rid of those.

Bananas in paradise was on the chopping block! Not sure what it will be replaced with.I also like the Shanghaied Noodle Stir-fry a lot. I like a lot of the appetizers on the Pirates menu too. I almost didn't order dessert the last time I had Pirate Night, but I took a chance on Bananas in Paradise, and it was really great also, I'd definitely choose it again.
I’m so sad the chocolate fudge cheesecake in Animators is gone. I looked forward to that every single trip. It's other menus as well - Disney Cruise Line Blog posted the new Animator's Palate menu from a recent Wonder sailing. (ETA: also posted Triton's)
Personally, not excited that they're removing family favorites to standardize Wish class menu items.
Thank goodness the halloumi is still in Animators. It isn't a great dish, but for whatever reason I keep coming back to it. Probably because sweet potato mash is comfortingIt's other menus as well - Disney Cruise Line Blog posted the new Animator's Palate menu from a recent Wonder sailing. (ETA: also posted Triton's)

Really hope the chicken and salmon lighter notes being eliminated/missing isn't a permanent thing. I have multiple (somewhat-to-very picky eater) family members who order the salmon quite regularlyIt's other menus as well - Disney Cruise Line Blog posted the new Animator's Palate menu from a recent Wonder sailing. Our boarding went well. We arrived about 20 minutes before our PAT and were through security within 30 minutes or so.Ps. How was the boarding experience? I’ve heard mixed reviews lately
Have you sailed Alaska? I was advised by my head server that the pork is better on the Vancouver sailings because they have to use a different supplier. He was right. Fatter cut, so it didn't dry out.It is a good salad. I feel like people always are sleeping on the entree salads but at this point I've tried basically all the entree salads offered on the original four ships minus the shellfish based ones (allergy) and they all range from okay to delicious, which makes them more consistent than the poultry and pork options.
I'd love to have more and new options on Pirate Night, mostly because having a shellfish allergy makes Pirate Night and Tiana's menus extremely limiting and boring even with pre-ordering and substitutions, but the salad is absolutely the best thing they have on the current pirate night menu and I low-key wish it would make the move to being an option on the private islands for people who want BBQ vibes but would prefer something less heavy
This is true of many different departure ports and food items... I have found that some of the best beef cuts are also out of Vancouver, at least for Main Dining Rooms... Some items are better our of Florida, and some, elsewhere.Have you sailed Alaska? Good to know. I'd love to do Alaska again. This is true of many different departure ports and food items... I have found that some of the best beef cuts are also out of Vancouver, at least for Main Dining Rooms... Some items are better our of Florida, and some, elsewhere.
Where was this? It doesn't sound like Disney's terminals at either Port Canaveral or Port Everglades, because document check happens downstairs for both of those. Maybe it was Terminal 10 at Port Canaveral (where the Wish sails out of)?Our boarding went well. We arrived about 20 minutes before our PAT and were through security within 30 minutes or so.
What I don't understand is why they have so much space inside the building, but bottleneck everyone outside the building. Why not just move security upstairs, and let people wait inside?
It's also a bit silly to me that you wait in line for security, then go all the way upstairs and wait in line for document check, then potentially wait in line AGAIN to board the ship. Why not connect things more?
Our PAT was 1:45 and I think we were probably on the ship by 2:00, because I suggested that ODS go to sit down lunch to discuss his allergies before dinner, but it was very close to the ending time of 2:15pm.
Ahhhhh I love those hash brownsGood to know. I'd love to do Alaska again.
Dare I say, the plain old Cabanas hash browns are better out of PC (I know a lot of you love the chicken tendies, but don't sleep on the hash browns).
This is actively why I avoid getting to the terminal too early, even as a Pearl. Last year before the EBTA we did Disney transport as it was the easiest option and the terminal was sooooooo crowded and there was nowhere to sit. I much prefer a quieter terminal.Regardless, the fact that DCL bottlenecks people outside the building is exactly why there is so much space inside. I have definitely seen DCL terminals very full and hard to find places to sit, so it only works marginally, but I can only image what it would be like if everyone could just show up whenever they wanted.
