According to the DL Calendar, the DUMBO refurb begins on Monday July 3rd. The Fantasyland refurbs continue after Alice and Mr. Toad down for almost 2 weeks in June and Peter Pan down for almost 4 weeks.

Alice and Mr. Toad: June 5th through June 16th.
Peter Pan: June 5th through June 29th.
Dumbo: July 3

Update;
Refurbishment is one day. Dumbo is not listed for refurbishment on July 4th!

Wow, that's surprising right at the start of summer. Hopefully it's only down for a short time.

Fingers crossed that this doesn’t mean Pinocchio will be down late September as I’ve never been to DL and that’s one of my priorities

I’m already assuming pirates will somehow be down then as while it’s my first time my sisters been in 19 & 22 and both times pirates was being worked on
Not sure about Pirates. I know it had a long refurb in 2022.

With all the planned refurbs and even After Dark events in June (!) I do wonder if Disney is expected low crowds this summer.
I do not think they expect low crowds. The Grad nights and the Pride nights add to attendance. We know in August, HM will go down for its refurn to return to HMH on September 1 when Halloween Time starts.
I think the Alice, Toad and Peter Pan have something to do with theit shared building as well as roof repair from storms and additional fire protection. Dumbo is surprising though.

It definitely seems like wdw is expecting lower crowds
Yep. With the 2 ticket offers for the summer offers, Disney expects lower crowds at WDW. The After pandemic vacations have slowed now and Disneyland has a better mix of locals and out of town tourists and annual passholder/magic keys.

While yes, the After Dark events add to the attendance, I recall past After Dark events occurring mostly in the off season and not peak summer season. I was surprised they did one in June.

Haunted Mansion usually goes down around the time kids are going back to school (my kids go back mid-August).

Planned refurbs used to happen (in general) I’m off-peak times. But they are closing Splash (a water ride!) just as summer is gearing up. And closing down big chunks of Fantasyland in peak summer. It’s weird. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I know SM is closing at the end of the month. Is there an off peak anymore? Who knows? Very weird and odd.

I was wondering the same thing. I mean, at this point, if we hadn't been planning this trip for a year and already had our plane tickets, etc, I would be pushing our trip to a later date. But alas, June it is. Fingers crossed that lower crowds is the one benefit that we get. (I am so disappointed about Fantasmic :( )

Oh no…
I love dumbo, it’s a fun ride. I hope it’s a quick one and it’s open again end of July…

(But I am honest. I‘d prefer dumbo down instead of a major ride…)
DUMBO had a major refurb - the ride was rebuilt in 2018 from January 8 to April 25.
Other refurbs:

  • Oct 28-Nov 14, 2013
  • Jun 5-6, 2013
I do not think this is a major refurb. Let's hope!
