I just got off the phone with Office Depot Customer Service and the rep was very polite and helped me open a ticket (more on that later). At the end of our convo, she asked me how I would rate her from a scale of 1-10. I said yes, I will stay after the call to answer the survey. She asked me again how I would rate her from a scale of 1-10 and I said that's for me to enter into the system. Then she said "Well, I'm asking you now." I was quite taken aback and replied I have never had a CS rep directly ask me for a rating. She then hanged up abruptly. Now I'm wondering if I had overreacted. Should I have just told her 10 just to have her leave me alone? What would you do?

I had placed an order of 4-$25 Uber gift cards online at Office Depot to take advantage of a 10% Chase offer back on 8/10. When I have not received anything one month later and tracking showed Shipped but no delivery info, I called OD and they said they will have the gift card vendor contact me. The vendor emailed me and said those are promotional gift cards and not meant to be sold. Well...they are still on the OD website! PSA: DO NOT BUY these Uber GCs on OD's website! I replied to the vendor and asked for a refund and they said I will have to contact OD. After waiting for almost 45 minutes on hold, the OD rep helped me open the ticket and told me someone will get back to me about a refund. That is the backstory to the above exchange.
Were you able to rate her, or did her hanging up on you bypass that?

No I was not connected to the survey after she hanged up. Maybe she thought I would give her bad rating? Honestly I would have given a rating of 8 mostly for her politeness and initial apology for being on hold for such a long time but not a 10 since she was not able to resolve my issue by just opening a ticket when my case was already opened a week ago. I guess technically she was just following procedure since the initial ticket was for non-receipt of gift cards and this latest ticket is for a refund. This is my last time purchasing from Office Depot.

I have a question on vgc.... I got a few from Staples yesterday (have to meet a spend) and I went on the site, checked each one, registered, and changed the pin...I'm hoping this will help protect against fraudulent use while I'm using them over time....it's pretty tedious to do all 3 things with each vgc I bought- do any of you do this?

I always register and update the pin. Couple of comments:

- when you register, the final screen shows you the balance. Do that first and, as long as it says $200, you don't have to check transactions.

- the first time you type the card number, do a Ctr-C before you hit submit. Then, setting the pin you paste the 16 digit card number and only have to type in the date and cvc.

I know other people don't do this consistently. Because we a) often use these cards for online purchases and b) use the debit function to pay our red card bill, I want the address to be my home address and the pin to be the number I pick.

What a long day!

DS was feeling sick Wednesday with flu like symptoms.
He slept 12 hrs, came downstairs looking rather pale, I made him chix soup and sent him back to bed. He slept for another 8 hours, looked better with color but he still wasn't back to normal.
Last night at 9:30 we took him to the ER due to severe cramping and blood in his stool. They finally gave him a room at 2:10am, set him up with an IV, took blood and hours later found out he had a viral infection in his stomach. Apparently the virus made it's way down his large intestine. They gave him some meds which helped and sent us home at 5:30am. I think we finally fell asleep around 6ish.

The ER was set up for covid with plastic sheets hanging from the ceiling in sections. It was ominous looking and it didn't look like that two weeks ago when I was there getting a series of tests done through my new PC.
The closest ER was full and wasn't excepting anyone.

My recommendation, if you need to go to the ER, do yourself a favor and call prior to leaving home.

I hope your DS is feeling better soon!

I'm new to Cash App. I used a Walgreens offer on Sunday, and it worked perfectly. I tried it again today, and it didn't work. I've been in a chat for over an hour now. I keep getting bounced to different people. Can you only use the offer once? That's what the most recent rep said. The offer says once every 24 hours, and it's the only offer I activated. Ugh.

I've been using the Walgreens and Home Depot boosts every few days and they keep working, I don't always manage to get there once per day. Been buying $50 Disney Gift Cards for $45 each time.

Do you have to do anything special in the app with the offer between trips? I just activated that one offer, used it once, and it's still activated. There's not another step before using it again, right?

I find the PIN to be absolutely useless, because the PIN is only if the card is run as debit, if it is run as credit, it does not ask for the PIN even if you set one.

You probably did this but sometimes we forget simple steps. Did you load money onto the cash app again?
