RunDisney's pacegroups will be :
Marathon - 3:10, 3:20, 3:30, 3:40, 3:50, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 5:00, and 5:30.
Half Marathon – 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, and 3:00

I'm okay with the pace groups for the Half, but would like a slower pace group for the Full (like 5:45, 6:00, 6:15....)

Wondering if there's many Dissers out there, running the Full (or the Half) that are hoping to find others realistically hoping/able to finish in 5:45, 6:00, 6:15, etc?

Maybe we could start a list? No commitments, just a general plan.
I'll update the list every 10days or so. And the weekend before, I'll adjust to reflect anyone's change of expectations or relevant notes....even note your costume (because that's just fun! even if just a sparkly non-chafing skirt!)

We all know the Lime Green Mickey Head is Disser's ID..... I was thinking a nice way to self identify, both in the corrals & during the race would be to have a LimeGreen Mickey Head attached to the back of your hat (cap/tiara/SweatyBand/MickeyEars) or even to the back of your shirt........ Use a Sharpie to write your time in large numerals.

It's easy enough to start with the approp pace group if you start in the same corral, but many don't necessarily finish with the group they start with, myself included, esp given that you might stop for bathroom breaks or character photo ops.
And for me, it's the last half that I need the group support to keep me running...I tend to loose focus:guilty: in the last 1/3 of any event.

So that's why I suggest wearing an emblem visible from the back/side ..... because you can't see anyone's front when you are running!
(and there's always Dissers :cheer2: on the sidelines who'd cheer even louder if they knew you were a Disser too!)

(maybe we'd even try for a meet in the day before/after!)

HERE'S THE LIST!!! BE ON THE LIST!!!

Here's the way my mind worked in coming up with my times - I did the Dopey last year, but due to weather didn't get to run the 5k part (I landed 1:30 pm that day)

Last year's Half: my time = 3:11.
.................................we had several bathroom & water stops, but only 1 photo op (at the Castle)
This year aim: 2:35 (range 2:30 -2:45)
.................................2:20-2:25 is my usual, and I don't race.

Last year's Full: my time = 6:24 (my first).
...............................we had a ton of bathroom & water stops, and 1 photo op (Dopey). And did more walking than planned.
This year aim: 5:45 (range 5:40-6:00)
................................5:25 was my time for Marathon#2 (Nov 2) & I did a ton of walking, I so could have used a group for that part, esp the last 10k!

And, if anyone has other ideas on how to self identify, chime in!
Thanks!

I'm aiming for around 5:30 but probably won't run with the official pace group. Coming off of a hip issue (it's been holding up good the last few runs so I think I'll be okay, but I'll get my best sense going into these next batch of long runs). I wouldn't mind company but whomever is running with me is going to have realize later miles might be dictated on how my hip feels.

Its my first marathon, coming off an injury and would love to be in a 6:15-6:30 pace group.....

My goal for the half will be to run sub-1:40 with stops for all of the characters (did that last year in 1:40:07, but ran right past Donald without seeing him). I'll be wearing something obnoxious ... not sure what yet. In any case, I'll be near the 1:40 group the whole time.

Will be pacing DW in the full. Assuming the corrals work out (and depending on how she's feeling), we'll probably hang with or near the 4:00 group. Look for the bride/groom combo.

I've never joined in on a pace group but think I might try it out. I'll be doing Goofy and it will be my first full. Plan is to be about 2:30-2:45 for the half (20-30 mins slower than my normal half) and I think 5:30-6:00 might be a good goal for the full :)

That's pretty close to what I'm thinking, though I'm hoping for a slightly faster full.

You're all welcome to join our Blerch pace group for the 10k. We'll be the ones in Blerch shirts handing out cake, Nutella, and maybe even grape beverage. :)

Complete with de-motivational (not a word, I know) sayings like "no one's making you do this..."?

Put me down on the "crawl over finish line before balloon ladies catch up" pace group. :thumbsup2

I'll try to go faster than that, but my goal is just to finish. Anything other than that is frosting on the cake. :goodvibes

Blerch!!! Cake, Nutella, and magic grape beverage... Will you have a sofa?

I particularly like Matt Inman's definition of a marathon: http://s3.amazonaws.com/theoatmeal-img/comics/marathon_do/marathon_definition.png :rotfl2:

Make sure to have a sign that says: "There's no rush. Have a snack instead. Maybe a nap, too. Seriously, just take it easy. Take a load off, buddy. You earned it. Eat the whole cake. Eat the whole ********* thing." :lmao:

I'm with you!! Finish before the balloon ladies :cutie:

Okay put me down for 5:45. Tonight's run gave me a sense of what I can do and that finishing under 6:00 is possible even after the last couple of months. I think 5:45 is the most realistic.

I am with those that are aiming for the 5:30 to 5:45 group for a realistic finish of my first full. But as long as I finish faster than the 91 year old who did a full in just over 7 hours not long ago I will be very happy:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'd much rather a McFlurry please! Or a Margarita....

FFigawi, are you doing the Dopey or Goofy this year?

:rotfl::rotfl: I want that Tshirt!
Jerivera, are you doing the Half, Full, or ?

I'm doing the Full. :goodvibes

If I'm being serious, I do expect to be done anywhere within 5-6 hours depending on how many stops I make and whether Everest is running when I get there. But since this is my very first marathon, and I was a life-long couch potato as of January, I'll be VERY happy just finishing. :)

So, to keep myself from freaking out and stressing out about the fact that I'll be running an entire marathon () in one month (:faint:), I'll go with the simple and non-stressful goal of: Before the balloon ladies! :thumbsup2

I will be wearing a Minnie Mouse skirt and starting in corral N.... getting closer and I'm getting nervous. First marathon here goes nothing!!!
