UPDATED 7/11/02 Official - I want to share transportation from airport - post

Since I live in Florida, I may be able to pick some people up at the airport, but it depends on when I'm arriving. I have a car that can hold 3 people, 4 if someone rides in the trunk. All I ask is that you pay for parking and give me a hat so I can say "Yes Miss Daisy!"

Shannon, we MIGHT be able to share a car on the 30th.....but I arrive an hour later and on American Airlines. Let's work this out in e-mail.

Corinne and I are (hopefully---will have to look into this since she is flying United and I am on American) going to share a ride on the 11th early early in the morning. Our flights leave around the same time.....6:30-ish.

I will probably be at the airport to pick up my parents on the 30th...unless I get them a town car (hate to send them on Mears and have us lose half a day together that way....) They arrive a little before noon, I think. So I may have some room in my van....my dh probably won't make the airport run with me but my kids might...I probably have at least 2 seats. We're going to BWV, but I know my way around well enough to get anyone where they need to be.

They fly back on the 7th, so I may be able to provide someone with a ride then too....

Stupid question here, but when going to pick someone up at the airport where do you park? And I would be following signs for "arrivals", correct? For some reason that arrivals/departures thing confuses me.... My only airport driving experience is with the ABE airport in Allentown....a small airport. MCO is so big!

You're correct Lesley, you meet them at arrivals. There are several places you can meet people. Outside the baggage claim area is ok.

We've always met arriving parties at the Shipyard Brew Pub which is right in the middle of the airport on the same level as the arriving flights. Doesn't hurt that while waiting we can throw down a couple of brews.

Here is a great website for MCO which has diagrams that shows where the gates and shops are. You can even check which airline arrives at which gate.

I printed out the diagrams, circled the meeting spot and sent them to everyone who was coming in (we had 15 people arriving on 6 different flights). It worked out perfectly.

Tia, American and United are in different terminals - so you'll need to inform the driver ahead of time if using a towncar service, as it could change the price.

Thnaks for the info Nancy. My flight arrives earlier so I will just head over to the other terminal and meet the driver there. I assume there are shuttles available to get me from terminal to terminal right? or some way to get from baggage claim b to a?

Shannon, I don't know if Delta is in a different terminal than American. I also don't know how you get from one terminal to another, but I'm sure someone has done it before.

All of the terminals are serviced by the monorail that goes back to the main terminal. There you can pick up your baggage at either claim area A or B. If you don't have too much luggage, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle going from Baggage Claim A to B or the other way around.

Hi, we arrive 12/1 at 10:17 AM on ATA and have booked a Town Car and have our confirmation for it. We go back on the 8th have 8:30pm flight. So will be picked up around 5:30 PM for trip to airport. We are staying at OKW, it's DW and me so we have room for 3. If interested please PM me and will make arrangements

I will have my car - arriving Dec 1 - Dec 9 at this time (with the new rates I may come in sooner)- it is a Honda - so only room for 3 plus luggage - (well possible 4 if they are small - 3 can fit in the back - tight in my opinion).

Well, the airline changed their schedule, so here is my new info.
I will arrive on November 29 at 5.50 pm and I will leave on December 19 at 11.25 pm

Hi Chris!

I just booked our flights, so you can add times for us now! We won't be renting a car, and I don't know if anyone will be staying near us or not (we're staying at the Contemporary). But, we will definitely be willing to share a towncar if it works out with anyone!
We are coming in on 11/30 at 10:50 AM
and leaving on 12/09 (NOT 12/08 as previously thought!) at 6:45 PM.
