(Updated 6/8) Gonna Have to Buy a New House! - Jan 2025 TR

Hi :) I don't comment much but just wanted to let you know I've followed along on your trip reports for years and always enjoy reading them! Thanks for bringing extra Disney cheer into my everyday life!
hi!! thanks for reading and for commenting! I'm so glad you enjoy them :D Always makes my day when I hear that - glad it can bring some fun to folks besides just myself :)

10 minutes later (a little before 3:30) I was back in the room: nap time! We rested for about 90 minutes, before getting up and heading to the 5:30 concert. Those midday breaks are the best - Trevor was always on board; I was a bit skeptical but now after several trips, I'm a convert. So worth it!
I love a midday break so much!

Kind of a long line, but not horrible - not like it's been in the past. This picture was taken at 5:15, and then next picture I have is with Trevor back in the theatre at 5:23, so only 5 min or so. Not bad! What'd we get?
PXL_20250128_222321412.jpg

Mozzarella thing.
Hah! That doesn't look terrible. I tend to skip the Italy booth (as most people do!)

Then, since we were right there, we decided to get the picture where they have the lightstick behind you. The line didn't look super long - maybe 5 people in front of us? But we ended up waiting 33 MINUTES. They took 10 minutes with this first family, and then were swapping out CMs, and then took 5 minutes each with the next few groups (lots of taking the picture, then showing the family and everyone oohing and aahing, and then getting set up again for shot number two...), and then finally realizing that "huh this is maybe taking too long" and starting to rush people through. We were done in about a minute, which was nice but also kind of aggravating when we'd just been watching them take so long and do SO MANY shots with the groups before us. Blargh. I think I was just grouchy.

Those pics are so cool. I totally missed that in January but I'll be looking for it next year!

And what song did we get? Everybody Wants to Rule the World!! YAY!!!!!

My LEAST favorite! LOL! I feel like this song makes the ride feel slower!

This was also another one you get for the look. I actually love bubblegum but man this was not good - it tipped over into pepto bismol taste. But it was super cute. Trevor ended up liking this, cause he's weird. He said it reminded him of amoxicillin when he was a kid. :)
Um, yum? :rotfl:

As we rode that one, Trevor hit his head when he raised it up at the wrong time, and got a bit of a cut on his head.
Ouch! I always say that's my dream Disney job...handing out bandaids at a water park. What a lovely Nursing job that would be ::yes::

Also I have to share: I have several claw clips for my hair (including one that looks like Sleeping Beauty's crown) but I don't wear them super often 'cause my hair falls out of it. BUT! I found a youtube tutorial on how to use it that claimed your hair wouldn't come out, and I tried it and by golly it works! I had my hair in that clip all day (well, not while we were in the water, but at Epcot) and my hair stayed put! Yay!
Perfect! My hair always looks a crazy mess with the claw clips. I'll have to search for some videos.

Three rides on Rise - we were riding high!
:thumbsup2

It was a 4 minute wait to meet Bert and the penguin:

Cute!

Looks like such a fun night!

We were there the same time but so far our park itineraries haven't crossed. Looking forward to your Thursday adventures!

I love a midday break so much!

Yea it wasn't bad - definitely overpriced, but tasted decent.
Those pics are so cool. I totally missed that in January but I'll be looking for it next year!
Wait time aside, it was definitely a neat picture. There's usually a wait though so you may have to factor that in!
My LEAST favorite! LOL! I feel like this song makes the ride feel slower!
LOL really?! what's your favorite Guardians song?
Ouch! I always say that's my dream Disney job...handing out bandaids at a water park. What a lovely Nursing job that would be ::yes::
Right? I always think it'd be fun to get a nice parttime job at Disney when I retire (in a billion years lol) and this would definitely be a contender!
Looks like such a fun night!
It was awesome - highly recommend!!

Hey all! So sorry for the long delay in posts...Trevor and I each had a work trip, but my work trip was to Asia and Trevor had a bunch of airline points so...we decided YOLO and went to Tokyo Disney! WE were there for a week or so and had a great time, but of course it did make it so I didn't post on this TR...sorry! But I'm back and will wrap up this one. Not sure if there's any interest in a Tokyo Disney trip report but happy to do one if anyone wants! Tokyo is amazing -- we had such a great time. :)

Anyways, back to this trip report!

Switching to Beach Club Club Level - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 1)
Today was our last full day! Darn. The plan today was that Trevor was heading over to Universal, so I was gonna do Magic Kingdom on my own. So I'd woken up at 7 and booked my fastpasses for the day and managed to get a Tiana's boarding group as well as a Lightning Lane for Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise. :)

Also, today we were switching rooms for real - we wanted to stay at Beach Club but the only room they had available was club level...darn. :) So we woke up pretty early and got all packed up, with WDW Today as the theme music while we packed. :)

We said goodbye to our lovely balcony:

And then went down to the lobby and got checked in for our club level stay! They brought us up to the club level and got us checked in there, though it took a little bit of time - not sure why. The room of course wasn't ready (which was fine) but we were able to get breakfast in the lounge!

This was a bit different than our most recent club level experience at the Grand Floridian: there seemed to be slightly fewer offerings, and they didn't have cartons of milk (which I realize is a weird thing to care about but what can I say, I like milk). Still good though!

The lounge is also in a slightly odd space - this was our view:

I think that's the front of the resort?

Splitting Up - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 2)

We got food - I got the cinnamon roll, some sausage, and the egg casserole.
IMG_6694.JPG
Pretty good! I think I liked the offerings at the Grand Floridian club level a bit better, but this wasn't bad at all.

After breakfast, Trevor headed off to Universal and I went down to the bus stop to head over to Magic Kingdom.
IMG_6698.JPG
I got on the bus at 9:37, and by 9:55, was heading into Magic Kingdom!
IMG_6699.JPG
Look at that lack of lines. Brilliant. :)

As I walked in, I ran into the Dapper Dans!
IMG_6702.JPG

They were singing "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines", which I'm a big fan of, mostly from the BBC radio sitcom Cabin Pressure (starring Benedict Cumberbatch of Sherlock fame!). So it was neat to hear the Dapper Dans singing it. :)

It really didn't seem very crowded - I assume cause the Magic Kingdom was closing early today for the cast member celebration. That is definitely a tip I recommend - going to MK on days it closes early you usually do get lower crowds.

Over at Jungle Cruise, I tapped in for my fastpass!
IMG_6707.JPG
I had a great Jungle Cruise ride, and took a TON of pictures:

I do love the updates they made to the ride - I approve.

Meanwhile, Trevor had finally arrived at Universal!

Rides! - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 3)

While Trevor was deciding what to do, I was heading over to Tiana's Bayou Adventure!
IMG_6750.JPG
See? Like nobody there.
IMG_6753.JPG
I love that view :)

Trevor decided he'd do Villain Con:

The theming of Villain Con is just awesome, for any of you who haven't yet done it. Highly recommend.

I hopped on Tiana's and was off!

Meanwhile, Trevor finished up at VillainCon:

No idea if that's a good score or not, but there you go. :)

Meanwhile, I was super happy: the Tiana animatronic in the finale was working!

It's a way better finale when Tiana is not standing there with a deadeye stare! I also love these posters there at the end:

Of all the various band members! So cute

I was sleeping in this photo but kind of was hidden.

Meanwhile, Trevor had headed over to the Passholder preview of the Universal Tribute store:

Apparently it was the first day or so, cause Trevor saw a BUNCH of vloggers and social media folks.

Meanwhile, I was riding Haunted Mansion!

Heck yes we want a TDR TR! And include everything like on your Paris trip! I have to live vicariously on Tokyo and France Disney trips because I can't fly that far. Im claustrophobic and that length of time is just too much for me to be trapped in a metal tube! 4 hours is my max. Just long enough to get to Orlando!

I was at MK once on that CM party day and that is one of the best days to go. It was so empty! I highly recommend that day too.
