I'm baaaa-aaack! But not really ;D This is a Trevor solo trip TR - Trevor's very first solo Disney trip!!

If you're new to my TRs, hello! I'm Tiffany, big Disney fan, and I'm married to Trevor who loves Star Wars and Marvel and who I've converted into becoming a Disney adult. Trevor has been working in Germany for the past few months, and when he realized that he'd be there when Disneyland Paris put up all their Halloween decorations he made some jokes about going to DLP by himself to see it. But then they announced the Un-Lucky Nugget and he was like yup, going. :) I told him I'd of course be doing a TR, so here it is!

The details:
who: just Trevor
when: Sat Oct 4th - Sun Oct 5th
where: Moxy Val D'Europe

PXL_20251005_125114580.jpg
So let's get this started! Honestly, it was a bit of a chaotic mess getting down there...but buckle up, I'll go into all the crazy details. :)

Comedy of Chaos - Saturday Oct 4 2025

First off, Trevor had scouted out trains and such a few weeks ahead of time but there ended up being some uncertainties with work that made it so he didn't decided he was ready to book until Thursday night. To go on Saturday. Crazy. :) His plan was he'd catch the train down Saturday morning, and then stay all day, and catch an early train back Sunday. But when he looked at actually buying his train tickets on Thursday, everything coming back from Paris was sold out. So Friday I started looking too and that's what I was seeing. Apparently in either Germany or France (or both? we never were really sure) this weekend was a holiday, hence trains starting to sell out! But then, I did find a train ticket (with a connection) out of Paris that it let me book - yay! Oh wait, when the confirmation came it said that it was just the train ticket from the connecting city into Germany and not the ticket from Paris to the connecting city.
Oh No GIF - Alice In Wonderland Alice Face Palm - Discover & Share GIFs

Why would you even sell that?! Geez. I immediately canceled that and got a refund, and kept looking. I wasn't finding anything and then I found (for reals this time) a spot on the train from Paris to Cologne and then from Cologne to where Trevor needed to go. The problem? It got in at like 1:30 am Monday morning, and Trevor had to be at work Monday morning...so I didn't buy it, but flagged for Trevor.

Trevor thought about it, and then decided to buy it. So he bought a round trip ticket on the Deustche Bahn website and while it immediately gave him the tickets for the return trip, it said there was a technical error and it couldn't give him the tickets for the outward-bound trip. Which was the next morning. At 10:45 am. We both were trying to add the trip to the app or the website to see if he could get the tickets but no dice. The error said to call or email, but the phone line didn't open til 10 am the next morning. So finally, Trevor just went to bed, planning to get to the train station a bit early the next morning so that the in-person folks could help him.

The next morning, Trevor got all packed up for his quick trip and headed to the train station. He found some information folks wandering around the station, but they couldn't find his reservation at all, so they sent him to the actual information booth. He waited in line there, and then the person helping him at the actual desk was like "nope, can't see your reservation either! Guess you'll have to call". Which was definitely weird cause like how can the in-person folks not see the reservation Trevor made on the rail company's website?! But he called (thankfully the phone line was open by then), waited on hold, and finally got someone on the line who was able to see his reservation! Yay! But the guy couldn't send Trevor his ticket (for some reason). After a few more minutes he said he could send Trevor the info to let Trevor print the ticket out at the machines. That's something, right?

So the email comes at 10:40. Trevor's train is at 10:45. He tries to print the ticket but it's not working ('cause of course it's not). So he rushes back over to the information booth and they rush him to the front of the line and YAY are able to print out the ticket!!! Just in time for him to see the train pull out of the station, right on time.

As a note - Trevor and I have taken the train to Paris two or three times by now and the other times, the train was always delayed by like 3 or 4 minutes. Today, when Trevor needed those 3 minutes? Right on time. Of course. :P

Thankfully the information booth people (that Trevor went back to, time #3) were able to put Trevor on the later train at 1 pm. That one he made it on board safely, with a ticket and everything. :)
PXL_20251004_103114746.jpg
This one was a double-decker!
PXL_20251004_103221267.jpg
Once he was safely on board and the train was off, he booked his hotel for the night (Moxy Val D'Europe), and then the Disney Paris tickets. He didn't want to tempt fate by booking them earlier, just in case he couldn't make it there! Which I don't blame him. :) But of course, it didn't go smoothly! It wasn't letting him book tickets and then his wifi was going in and out which meant it kept kicking him back all the way to the main home page. So I decided to help cause I was at home with a very stable wifi connection, but I also had troubles (as you'd expect the way this trip was going). It wouldn't let me buy a two day ticket for today and tomorrow, and I assumed that it was because Disney Paris just didn't like selling same-day tickets. They did have undated tickets and the online availability calendar showed availability for today so we ended up buying a dated one-day ticket for Sunday and then an undated ticket. Then when I went to reserve today, OF COURSE it wouldn't let me reserve it. The availability calendar still showed availability for today but it wouldn't let me reserve it. ARGH. Disney Paris, do better with your technology. At that point, the only thing to be done was for Trevor to try and ask at the Guest Services windows at the parks, so *shrugs*. At least he had a guaranteed ticket for Sunday, which was gonna be his big day anyways (he wasn't gonna arrive at Disney Paris until about 6:30 or 7 pm anyways). I figured talking with the folks he'd probably be able to get in since even if the parks were full (which I couldn't imagine) at that point in the evening folks would be heading out of the park so there'd be room.

The rest of Trevor's train ride was uneventful - made it to the train station, successfully transferred over to the RER line to get to Disney Paris with a short wait...smooth sailing. There were rumors of a strike and the Paris Metro app was showing that the RER line wouldn't be running but once he was there all was fine. Paris and tech man...not doing well with giving accurate information today!

But finally, at about 6:45, he made it!
PXL_20251004_164856848.MP.jpg
So pretty. :)

He went to the ticket window to try and get in and, in the vein of this day....didn't get let in. The CM didn't seem to care and just repeated that the parks were full. Which may be true but is a funny thing to say when people were streaming out. Trevor did try and see if the bad technology would work in his favor by scanning his ticket (without a reservation for today) but no dice. He also tried over at the Disney Studios window but:
PXL_20251004_165111808.jpg
This CM was a bit more sympathetic but said that once the parks reach capacity, it doesn't matter how many people leave, the system won't let them make any more reservations. They also couldn't do a refund of the ticket (even on a gift card). Sadness.

Oh well. We tried, and at least he was there with a ticket for tomorrow. He went over to Disney Village and did some shopping (he may or may not have picked up some stuff for me - they had Belle's winter cloak that I wanted, and this awesome Sleeping Beauty book that looked like the jeweled book from the movie). He was thinking about staying to see the fireworks from Disney Village so he got dinner at Earl of Sandwich (no picture though 'cause he's not as good a trip reporter as I am :D), and then decided to head into the Disneyland Hotel to see the fireworks from the bridge to the center wing. He could see the Panoramagique balloon from Earl of Sandwich - we both just like saying "Panoramagique!". He did think the view of the fireworks would be good from the balloon but it wasn't running anymore. And also no way Trevor would go up in the balloon anyways - he's afraid of heights. :)

Once done with his food, he headed over to the Disneyland Hotel. They had some cute Halloween decorations up:
PXL_20251004_195918261.jpg
But unfortunately the view wasn't very good if you're not inside the park - Trevor could only see the really high fireworks.
PXL_20251004_200554022.MP.jpg
Probably better than from the plaza but still not great. I felt a bit bad about suggesting it since it wasn't a great view but it seems like there's no great view anywhere outside of the park. Oh well!

From here, he decided to head over to his hotel and get some rest for his long day tomorrow. The train was still running (despite the Paris Metro app saying it wouldn't be - trust CityMapper guys, it's never yet steered us wrong), and while he originally had been planning to check out the locker area (since he was planning to leave his bags there in the morning) but they close that area at 10 pm so no luck. Oh well - he'd just head there in the morning without checking it out ahead of time.

The train came pretty quickly and just a few minutes later, he was walking up to his hotel. It wasn't bad on space for a Moxy:

PXL_20251004_210433361.jpg
PXL_20251004_210417658.jpg
And even came with breakfast!

So while it ended up being WAY MORE of a stressful day than expected, at least he made it, had a comfy place to sleep, and a dedicated ticket for the next day. Halloween at Disney Paris, here Trevor comes! :)

Disneyland Paris Ghosties! - Sun Oct 5 2025 (part 1)

Trevor slept pretty well, and by 8:15, was enjoying the included breakfast.
PXL_20251005_061703240.jpg
The only thing Trevor didn't really like about the hotel was that there was only one elevator (and the stairs were emergency only) so it took him a few tries to get an elevator with space for him to get on. But other than that, not bad!

He hopped on the train and pretty quickly was at the train station, looking for the lockers to drop his bags.
PXL_20251005_070255486.jpg
The lockers took credit cards only (no cash), and had smalls and mediums. He was able to fit his backpack, and the 2 medium Disney bags with his purchases from last night with room to spare, for 5.50 euros. Not bad! There was security though to get into the area.

Then, time to head to the park!
PXL_20251005_070708672.MP.jpg
Security took about 15 minutes.
PXL_20251005_071040679.MP.jpg

And then off he went to Disneyland.
PXL_20251005_071805272.jpg
He got right into the park at about 9:20 am.
PXL_20251005_071959132.jpg
Not too bad! It was a little chilly but in the sun he was warm enough.

The Halloween decor was so cute!

Ghosts and M&Ms - Sun Oct 5 2025 (part 2)

More Halloween decor -
PXL_20251005_072354312.jpg
Ghost Dapper Dans!!! I think these may be my favorites.

PXL_20251005_072431060.MP.jpg
I don't remember seeing these window decorations before, of Big Thunder, Pirates, and Phantom Manor.

The Main Street vehicles were out and about.

Trevor's first stop though was the Boardwalk Candy palace to get the M&Ms treasure hunt map:

PXL_20251005_073235263.jpg
PXL_20251005_073229400.jpg
He wasn't planning to make it a huge priority, but figured it'd be a fun thing to look for as he had time. It's a scavenger hunt of doors and you put the corresponding door color on the map and can redeem it for a prize at the end.

Trevor was planning to do Big Thunder Mountain first, so he started heading that way. And found more ghosts on the way!
PXL_20251005_073245271.jpg
Seriously, adorable. I want these at Disney World.

I'm here! We'll be too early for Halloween time on our trip - with a choice of Halloween or my birthday, I will always choose my birthday 😉 However, I will be at HKDL for Halloween!

What an ordeal for Trevor to get there! It must have been crazy busy if the parks were sold out but it didn't look that chaotic on the Sunday 🤔

Interested to find out more about the M&Ms treasure hunt, although it will probably be gone by the time we get there.

Oooh birthday or Halloween - I'm torn! I always love the Halloween decorations but then a birthday trip...hard choice! Though you're gonna have a great birthday trip. And HKDL for Halloween sounds amazing! I hope you have a great time. I'm curious what they do for Halloween - I probably won't be able to make it there for a long time.

Yea, it kind of felt like the universe was telling Trevor to not go but it worked out in the end! And as for the parks selling out - right? It didn't make sense to me *shrugs* But then Disney Paris is really bad at operations and logistics - it's a wreck.

Yea i think the M&M treasure hunt is specific to Halloween - they didn't have it when we were there in August.

It seems like it's pretty much a constant Halloween party. Apparently guests are allowed to dress up and they have trick or treating as well as villain shows, parade, costumed characters etc. They used to have haunted houses, but they don't seem to do that anymore. That's not something I'd be into anyway - I prefer cute and fun to actually scary.

Too bad, sounds like fun!

oooh that'll be fun! I'm with you on preferring cute and fun to scary - I always avoid HHN and other scary stuff at Halloween. I hope you have a great time!

yea, apparently they don't even have a lot of the scavenger hunt during Halloween - I saw several posts online about them running out of the maps much earlier in the day than you'd think.

Wow… is Madame Leota haunting the logistics? Sorry that you were denied entry despite clear and steady exits. Disney Paris can be a platypus at times.

The lampposts are witches!

Trevor kept going into Frontierland, and passed the UnLucky Nugget:
PXL_20251005_073733724.jpg
So cool looking! And not a line yet - Trevor wasn't sure how long before it opened at 11:30 am would people start lining up, but no line so far.

He bought at fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain and started heading that way:

There was about a 10 minute wait for Big Thunder on the fastpass line, but he got row #4:

Waiting for the UnLucky Nugget - Sun Oct 5 2025 (part 4)

After Big Thunder mountain, Trevor was checking out the merch at Thunder Mesa Mercantile:
PXL_20251005_081228753.MP.jpg
There wasn't anything he ended up wanting, but cute decorations inside!
PXL_20251005_081310576.MP.jpg

He also found one of the M&M doors:
PXL_20251005_080704968.jpg

There was a bit of a line for the Unlucky Nugget by now -
PXL_20251005_081350638.MP.jpg
but it wasn't bad, and Phantom Manor was posting 5 minutes, so Trevor decided to go for it. There was a bit of a line - he ended up waiting 10 minutes and then was the second to last person in the house before they closed the doors.
PXL_20251005_082720336.MP.jpg
Apparently the line did update to 10 min by the time Trevor actually got on his doom buggy.

Always a fun ride. :) He got out a bit before 10:40, and the line at the UnLucky Nugget had gotten a bit longer:
PXL_20251005_084153080.MP.jpg
So Trevor decided to hop in line.
PXL_20251005_084219962.MP.jpg
He was hoping he was still close enough to the front that he would get seated in the first wave.

After he'd been there 15 minutes, the line had already doubled so he did good. And by 11:15, the line was switching back once on the porch, and then going all thew ay across the front of the restaurant and around the Last Chance Cafe, and then was out of sight on the main walkway. Woof!

PXL_20251005_094054792.MP.jpg
Fun theming!

This is the picture right before Trevor made it inside -
PXL_20251005_095107894.jpg
Quite a crowd!

But finally, he made it in:

The UnLucky Nugget, here he comes! It was just a few minutes before noon.

PXL_20251005_095834637.jpg
Trevor got seated in this slightly upper/raised ring around the edge of the restaurant.

Even the napkins were Phantom Manor themed!

Gotta love the commitment to the cobwebs.

Most the the theming was just decorations:

PXL_20251005_100322150.MP.jpg
PXL_20251005_100324435.jpg

The only active effect was the phantom playing the piano:

Which to be fair is pretty neat. There was also occasionally a disembodied laugh. But overall, pretty awesome theming.

Ok, food time! Trevor took pictures of the menu:

Couple more theming photos -
PXL_20251005_100338547.jpg
The sheet music is "The Wedding Dirge"!

PXL_20251005_100346873.jpg
PXL_20251005_100348606.jpg

Ok food time! Trevor said they were .... not fast. But he got the Burger of the Manor: Pulled chicken burger, carmelised onions, black garlic sauce, Doritos, bacon, lettuce, and pepper jack cheese. Served with french fries.
PXL_20251005_100810579.jpg
Kind of fun to have that stamp on the burger!

PXL_20251005_101257184.jpg
That's what it looks like inside...not that appetizing but Trevor said it was fine.

He also got the Macabre Cocktail (non-alcoholic): cherry juice drink, cranberry nectar, flavored with lime, agave syrup, and vegetable carbon, sprite and popcorn.
PXL_20251005_100419276.MP.jpg
Kind of weird looking, not gonna lie. Trevor said again it was fine - odd, but fine.

Also I have no idea why Trevor took a selfie inside the bathroom but I'm including it for kicks and giggles. :)
PXL_20251005_100229251.MP.jpg
Hi Trevor! Apparently it took quite a while to get his dessert so he had time. But his dessert finally came: Tombstone Sundae: vanilla-flavoured sundae, black popcorn and chocolate sauce.
PXL_20251005_105451559.MP.jpg
Not sure why they were putting popcorn in everything but *shrugs* The tombstone itself was super cute:
PXL_20251005_105651923.MP.jpg
Not sure what it means with the "lunch time" epitaph, but cute!

Trevor ended up being there for a bit over an hour, and as is often the case with Disneyland Paris, it was a bit mixed. The theming itself was fantastic, though it would have been cool if there were some characters on the stage or something a bit more kinetic. The food was fine, and then the service itself was fair to not great - the CMs were nice but the service was really slow. And interestingly enough, despite all the theming throughout the restaurant, the CMs were in the normal Lucky Nugget costumes? *shrugs* But still, you kind of can't beat that Phantom Manor wedding breakfast theming. :)
PXL_20251005_110327281.jpg
Trevor's next plan was to go ride Hyperspace Mountain, but he felt like he probably ate a bit too much so decided to do more of the M&M Treasure Hunt while his stomach settled before heading over to a coaster.

Halloween Parade - Sun Oct 5 2025 (part 7)

The M&M thing ended up being harder than he expected - he found 2 but then despite looking for the rest, her couldn't find any of the ones in Adventureland or Fantasyland. He did find Captain Hook!
PXL_20251005_113018465.jpg
He kept going over to Discoveryland to see about finding the M&Ms there and couldn't find it either - he saw other people with the map also wandering around with lost looks on their faces, so seems like the map was marked a bit poorly. Oh well! By that point, he was ready to ride Hyperspace Mountain!

He ended up waiting about 10 minutes with the fastpass:
PXL_20251005_120413293.jpg
Always a great ride. :) Afterwards he did some shopping in the Star Tours gift shop and found this awesome Mandalorian ugly sweater:
PXL_20251005_120832226.jpg
He thought about buying it, especially cause he was getting a bit cold when the sun went behind a cloud and the wind picked up, but decided not to since he already had a Boba Fett ugly christmas sweater at home that was pretty similar. Instead, he was leaning towards getting the Big Thunder Mountain spirit jersey, so he decided to head that way. The main thing he wanted to do still was the Halloween parade at 3:25 and it was about 2:30, so plenty of time, and the hub was still pretty empty.

Over in Frontierland, they only had XS, Small, or XL, But he found a worker who was nice enough to check the back and found a medium for him. Yay!
PXL_20251005_125114580.jpg
So cute. :) I told him that his spirit jersey matched his beard. :D

Back over to the hub he went, trying to figure out the best spot to stand to watch the parade and the show and see Melanie and the Phantom. I was googling but couldn't really figure out a good spot, but Trevor found a good spot at the curb where he could see two of the stages and it worked out really well! Most of the floats came around in front of him so he got a good view, and he got to see the Phantom and Melanie dance on the stage closest to him. And while some of the floats stopped and blocked people's view, he didn't get blocked. And bonus just for Trevor, he didn't see Clarabelle 'cause she was on a stage that was blocked for him, and since he doesn't like Clarabelle, that was a win. :)

It's definitely a fun parade, and Disney Paris does do great with the dancing on the stages in the hub. Trevor had a great view too. The only downside was the 8 year old kid next to him who kept darting into the road WHILE the parade was going on - the CMs kept having to come over and try to keep the kid on the curb.

ANYWAYS! At this point it was a little before 4pm, and Trevor had done basically all the things he wanted to see Halloween-wise, so he was planning to head over to Disney Studios. But first, he stopped at the Boardwalk Candy Palace to redeem his treasure map (I may or may not have cheated and googled on line what colors go where on the map). The prize?
PXL_20251005_141050195.jpg
M&M minis and a 15% off coupon at the Candy Palace, which he didn't end up using cause there wasn't anything he particularly wanted. Oh well!

Over to Studios he went - specifically, Avengers Campus! The Wasp was out waving at people:
PXL_20251005_143008053.jpg
PXL_20251005_143013542.MP.jpg

But Trevor was heading to WebSlingers - the single rider line was posting 10 minutes. Looking at timestamps on pictures, it took him about 20 minutes to actually get on the ride vehicle, which isn't horrible. How'd he do score wise?
PXL_20251005_145630418.jpg
Not bad! He was yellow - 185,400.

Next up, Flight Force - he did a fastpass and it took about 20 minutes there too.
PXL_20251005_152120781.jpg
So proud of Trevor riding this one on his own - the power of his love for Avengers and Marvel! :)
PXL_20251005_152548523.jpg

At this point, it was 5:25, and Trevor wanted to catch the 6:04 train out of the station back into Paris. So he was debating what to do with his last half hour - ride Crush's Coaster or head back to Disneyland to try the Phantom Manor eclair. Crush didn't have a fastpass available for another 15 minutes which would have been cutting it very close, so he hoofed it back to Disneyland.

Would He Make It Home? - Sun Oct 5 2025 (part 8)

Back in Disneyland he walked back over to the Last Chance Cafe. While he was walking I was trying to mobile order the eclair for him but it wouldn't let me - the eclair didn't even show up on the app! Oh well. But then when Trevor got there?

It was sold out. Ding dang. Disney Paris, do better with logistics! Was it not on the app cause it was sold out, or was it not on the app for mobile order just cause it's not on the app? No way to know. And it was only like 5:45 - why was it sold out already? It's like one of the few Halloween treats they had. I don't understand. Poor Trevor having to go all the way over there for nothing!

Anyways, ending on a bit of a low note, Trevor made it back to the train station, grabbed his stuff out of the locker, and made it onto the 6:04 pm train with like a minute to spare. Brilliant. :) Also a note from me as the narrator - Trevor was sending me voice messages throughout the day and my favorites were when he was on the plaza between the parks cause the background music was so loud that I could hear it and Trevor and it was awesome just hearing that music going in the background.

Ok, not gonna lie - I was a little bit nervous about Trevor's trip back to Germany. Would his tickets work after the fiasco getting out there? Would he make the connection ok? Would he make it back home as expected? I mean normally I wouldn't be worried but considering how getting out there went....who knows! So I was like watching the trains on the station websites, etc...trying to exert control over things I can't control. LOL

Anyways! Trevor made it to Gare du Nord with plenty of time, especially when he found out his train was delayed 15 minutes. He had a 40 min connection though so a 15 min delay wasn't bad.

His train came and they held everyone at the platform for a bit:

But finally he got on and boarded all good, though his ticket said he was in seat 120 on car 25, but seat 120 was in car 24? Which was definitely slightly unsettling considering everything, but another family had the same thing so at least it wasn't just Trevor having travel troubles. But all was good - they scanned his ticket just fine. :)

The trains have these fun screens where they tell you how fast they're going:

Kind of fun when the high speed trains get going really high speed!

While he was on his way, I was checking his connecting train - that one turned out to be delayed about 15 minutes too, so no worries. Trevor's new arrival time was 23:19 and you best believe I sent him this gif!

And yes, cause I'm crazy I'd checked and found two other trains in the early morning hours that would get him home even if he missed his initial connection. But! Needn't have worried - he got on his connecting train all good, and the ticket scanned just fine. Not that he and I were worried but maybe a little bit after the guy in the row behind Trevor got in trouble trying to use some pass that wasn't good for that train.

But he made it home at 1:30 am, safe and sound! A whirlwind trip with some crazy logistics, but he got to see the UnLucky Nugget, and the Halloween parade, and ride some of his favorite rides. Not a bad trip overall! Thanks for reading!
