Updated 1/16/06 - Yup! #4 ... We won something in Year of a Million Dreams

Hey, do you actually use a postcard or can you use an index card in an envelope? :confused3

I put an index card in an envelope. I am not about to put the name, address, phone number and date of birth for everyone in my household on a post card for all the world to see!

I've got to get off my backside and get those cards in the mail. :cool1:

Congratulations. I always hear about people winning things from Disney but never knew one.

Congrats Dara and all the winners. Those are some really cool prizes. I have been sending in the post cards but nothing as of yet. I am happy that it is finally the year of a million Gnomes, so I am glad that others win prizes too.

Sweet! Because I filled out the index card but I saw on the paper that it needed to be a postcard.

I'll go get some stamps! :goodvibes

Wow.... Congrats Dara...thats pretty cool! And thanks for sharing with us! I gotta try and see we can be as lucky as you!
Congrats again!

Testers already have blue ears. The colors we've seen so far are black, gold, green, red and blue.

Lion

Yea..BUMMER... seems like all the really cool colors are taken by staff....my favorite color is Red with blue a close second and yet those colors are taken! BUt sure would be nice if we could get some colored Mickey Ears!! :)

OK, this is officially getting hilarious! My DH just called me at work and told me he picked up the mail from the mail box and there is yet another box from WDW, and looks and feels suspiciously like the ears box we won late last week. This makes three times in like five days that we've won something from the Dreams contest!

I sure hope I haven't used up all my luck on hats and pins and that I still have a shot at that Med cruise or DVC membership! But, hey, if all I get are hats and pins, I'm still a happy woman!

Maybe I SHOULD go buy those lottery tickets!

ok so where do i sign up? literally. i didn't even know this was going on until your first win Dara. A link would be good... lol

BTW congrats over and over :rotfl:

edit: nvm i see it on the previous page....sheesh ; )

and yes, it was another set of ears! That's three wins for me, one for DH. Maybe the kids are the ones to win the big prizes!

Let me preface this post off by saying that I had my AP Environmental Science final today at Noon (didn't have to drive to school until 11 or so... ;) )

So, I spent this morning studying for APES as well as looking for stamps around the house. Alas! There be none!

However, I knew where I had stamps: I gave my extra stamps to the College Counselor's secretary as I had mailed out all my College Applications already, and I knew she really needed them. She said that I could come by any time if I needed a stamp.

Well, I came by because I needed a stamp. She not only obliged but decided to mail the envelope out through school (undoubtably faster...).

So, my first index card is away! :woohoo:

DaraSue, when did you send out the index card that got you the prize? Like, how early can I start expecting a prize if I won one?

I bet you are glad to have that test out of the way!

I have no clue when I mailed the card that won any of these three. I know that the first boxes arrived with our full names on them, which is what I did for about the first month or so. Then I shortened it to just first and last name. The one with the lanyard, I didn't notice how it was addreed. This latest one was just first and last name.

According to the rules, some prizes are drawn from just that week's mailing, others are lumped together for larger prizes. I assume I just got extra lucky because I was sending them out every single day, except Sunday (to quote Harry Potter's horrible uncle, "No Post on Sundays".

I'm sure this is just a fluke, but I'm loving it. Read the detailed rules on the drawings and how they are doing them for an idea of when, but remember, persisitence seems to be the key, so go buy some more stamps!

Tomorrow's my off-day (Psych on Thursday, then Adv Math on Friday), so I'll head off to the Postal Office and grab them stamps!

I'll get you, Dreams Ears... (if I've collected the Black Ears and Gold Ears, I must grab these...)

It has to be that Tink avitar Dara, she's spreading lots of pixie dust on you! CONGRATS!!

congrats! We won a lanyard and pins .... I love your mouse ears! :cloud9:

The rules are like nine pages long!

No tricks, except I enter once for each of the five of us each day. I put a 3x5 index card inside a standard #10 envelope.

You put your name, address, daytime phone number and date of birth on the index card. Where you send it depends on where you live. See paragraph 2b for information on where to send it.

ok i tried to read it all but i went cross eyed, just to verify, I can enter once a day (not Sundays?) and i can send a post card for every member of the family every day, even the kids DD6 and DD10? Also my DH is not a US citizen, but a legal resident so can he enter? ps most contest don't allow computer printed cards to be sent, (everything has to be hand written) I did not see this so can i just print a bunch and mail them each day?

LOL you must enter a lot of contests to know that! But, sorry to show you:
"can enter without being present in a Disney Property by writing their full name, complete mailing address..."

See??? I told you! Go buy tickets now! lol

Congrats on the third set of ears. Maybe you'll end up with enough for everyone in your family. :)

I do not send anything out on Sundays because I'm afraid that two of each will arrive there and one set will be disqualified.

The rules do not state age limitations, so I send one for each member (me 44, DH 44, DS 13, DD9, and DS6). Matter of fact, the parts that talk about the awards clearly state that "if won by a minor..."

The eligibility section says nothing about "must be a resident" or "must be a citizen", so have at it, in my book! The countries that can participate are fairly open, as sweepstakes go!

As pointed out, the rules do state "written". I use return address labels on the envelope, but I hand print the address it's going to (which I think is just me being neurotic, but I've won three times, so....) and I hand write all the stuff on the index cards.

I enter about 25 contests daily, all online, except this one, which I send in. And now I've just realized I have to go out at lunch and mail my entries for today because I forgot to do it on the way in!
