Update! rental house, 4 kids, and the grouchy grandparents! June 2013 Pre-trip Report

shalom thats a great idea! Im sure my kids would love that! The American Idol expierence was really cool. The only thing bad is I felt so bad for DH he had to keep our 3 small children entertained all day while I was in auditions. Im surprised he had any hair left! :lmao: It was really funny the cameras were following us around and my DD kept fixing her hair and DS kept showing the camera man all of his souvenirs and autographs he got. It was too cute!

I hope that the in laws have a better trip with you guys this go round. How could they not though w/o Chris' ex around??? :rotfl2: I like the suggestion to let the grandparents ride favorite rides of the kids next to the one that it's the favorite of. Definitely will have to plan that out ahead of time so there's no bickering in the parks. :goodvibes

Brenda I never thought about the mickey ice cream bars but thats a really good idea. I need to learn some negotiation tactics from you :) The only problem with the mickey ice cream bars is my kids have gotten pretty good at making them vanish before mommy ever gets a bite :rotfl2:

BTW- we also bought a bunch of disney trading pins off ebay. So, we are going to try those out this year! They sound like a lot of fun!!

Carla- I only hope they would have a better time with me...I personally think im fun :lmao:

haha yeah you're a hell of a lot more fun than the ex that's for sure! :cool1: You should plan a night at Jelly Rolls for the in laws while you're down there. I bet they would LOVE the dueling pianos! I wish we had a babysitter while we're down there so Chris and I could go there again. We didn't hit it up when we were there when I was pregnant. I was just too darn tired by the end of the day.

shalom thats a great idea!

Glad you like it!

American Idol sounds like quite the adventure! Kudos to your hubby for taking the kids while you did American Idol. I'm sure that part was an adventure for him, as well. :rotfl2:

Definitely will have to plan that out ahead of time so there's no bickering in the parks.

Yeah, that's the downside of that plan. :p That and the fact that multiple kids may have the same favorite, although having both grandma and grandpa available helps. I'd also have backups in case one kid's ride isn't going to work. But for me, planning's half the fun, so not a problem. Sounds like that's the case with Jonilee too. :) I hope. ;)

I will have to tell them about jelly rolls! We loved it there.

Yeah it was great! :thumbsup2

yes planning is half the fun for sure. :thumbsup2

So my parents are really getting excited about going next year. They keep talking about it and wanting to plan stuff. We just cant wait to take them to O'hana. :cool1: Anyway, soon we will be posting our planned days and food!

Have you been to breakfast or dinner at 'Ohana? I've only been for breakfast but will try dinner next month. (I'm a little intimidated by the enormous amount of food that will be consumed with that meal. :crazy2:)

I look forward to hearing about your touring and dining plans! :)

Well I was trying to think of something cool for lunch today so we decided we were going to let the kids make their own pizzas! Well I bought flat bread, marinara sauce, shredded "pizza" cheese, and pepperoni. My brilliant hubby said make mickeys out of the pepperoni and this is what we got...

Our kids had a lot of fun making them they were really good and were fairly inexpensive too!

Carla we loved Jelly rolls I remember we met you and Chris there back in 2009 and remember I had terrible morning sickness the whole time :crazy2:lol I had a friend that had a business trip in Disney world (coolest company ever, business trip in disney!) and I gave her a long list of things she had to try and she said they went to Jellyrolls like 3 times!

My two younger girls looove trading pins. Middle daughter did it our first trip, we stocked her up for the second trip and youngest said she was not interested, then changed her mind in the middle of the trip. So we buzzed over to one of the Disney outlet stores and stocked her up... right after the $1 lanyards we'd seen the first time were sold out, of course.

Never been tempted to try a Disney pizza onsite but those look fun. :) We make a fair bit of stuff from this thread:

But they're more worried about authenticity than we tend to be, and some of our favorites we're just kind of winging it, making something "inspired" by Disney food rather than faithfully duplicated. Everything we've made from there -- faithfully followed or adapted -- has been pretty good, though.

Today we took our kids to The World Of Coke here in Atlanta and look what we found...the absolutely......disgusting....BEVERLY!

Oh my gosh - the Beverly. Happy to say that I only tried it once and once was enough! Although that won't stop me from telling my DH he MUST try this awesome soda when we are at WDW next month. Yep, I'm trouble. :rotfl2:

So what did your kids think??

The kids ran to get orange soda to get the flavor out of their mouth!:lmao: I meant to get a picture but I was too busy laughing at their facial expressions! I am with you Emmy's mommy. Its hard not to trick the newbies its just so much fun!I have full intentions of tricking both my in-laws to trying the Beverly:rotfl:

haha the beverly is disgusting! I told my chris ahead of time about it and he still tasted it. I miss when they had a whole set up of coke fountains at EPCOT. They did away with that in 2008 I think it was because everyone kept going in there for the free coke haha

Well the final payment for the house will made tomorrow. We have also made ADR's at Ohana and kona café (breakfast). A little change to the people going. My father can not get off of work, so just my mother is going. Anyway wee will be updating this soon with our trip plan. Thanks
