*UPDATE POST 97 GOT MY NEW CAR!* Get a new car or fix existing car?

And now for the most shocking update of all time...DH has fallen in love with my new minivan and he thinks he wants to replace his car with one as well:hyper: I told him to go for it::yes:: We're going to see what kind of deal we can get, what they will give him for his trade, etc. Both of us had previously underestimated how much easier this type of vehicle would make our lives. We are shocked at how easily we can now get the kids in and out of the vehicle. So, not only did I buy one Town and Country, but it looks like our family might be buying a second one:duck:

Congratulations and good luck! I hope they make the T&C better than they did my Caravan.

We just sold our 08 Caravan SXT (80,000 miles) because we were having a lot of issues and bought an 09 Nissan Quest.

I actually really miss my Caravan! They improved the newer models (the engine and interior were really poor on the 08) and I wish I would have bought the 2012 I test drove (less miles, 3 years newer, more options and only 2k more).

We also had a lot of issues with a Toyota dealership as well. They wouldn't negotiate the price of the Sienna and just wanted to talk payments. After an hour of going back and forth we walked out. We were ready to pay cash for the van!

I will just say this. I buy American. Period. I just do, and it's important to me. I will never buy a foreign car. I've driven nothing but Fords all my life. I have an 11 year old Ford that we're going to replace this year, because it's freaking 11 years old (and we're only just starting to get into repairs that cost more than $700 at a shot, fwiw). We replaced DH's sportier car younger, because DS came along and it was a pain to get the carseat (baby bucket) in and out of a 2 door coupe.

I'm looking at a new Ford, and all I hear is "OMG, Toyota and Honda are the only cars to buy." Meh. I've had nothing but good experiences with my Fords. I maintain them properly. They're quality cars. Some people who have never driven or owned a Ford will argue until they're blue in the face about the superiority of Toyotas and Hondas. It's an emotional issue for them. OP, don't let the negativity get you down, we also looked at T&Cs but couldn't justify a minivan when we only have one child. :rotfl:
