Update on my Mom

First off, thank you so much to everyone who has responded with so many kind words and PM's.......

I guess I should clear up the pain thing with Mom, she is a severe diabetic with neuropathy in both legs. There is no pain med that can entirely stop that. Most of the pain I am referring to is the mental and emotional anguish that Mom is going through right now, She was always such a strong and proud woman, this is not what she would have wanted...It is so undignified......

Time is short for her now, the hospice nurses are bringing the morphine tomorrow......

I'm just trying to spend as much time as I can with her.

Cherish every minute with your mom. Hug her and tell her you love her. That is the best medicine for both of you. You will never regret this time that you have with her. It is painful but beautiful.

Cherish the moments you have with your mom Susan. I am glad that hospice is there and will be giving your mom morphine. My mom died of cancer and I do know that it really helped keep her pain free and comfortable. You are in my thoughts {{{hugs}}}

Susan.... Thank you for the Update!


I still feel and believe that the love that you all share as a family is you're strongest "medicine".....You are not alone....many, many here...and in "RL" feel empathy for what you are having to go thur....I hope and pray..that God's comfort comes to your Mom soon...and that his healing power comfort's you and your family during this time!

...As I said on your last post....and as did many others...people here are real..we do care....there is no ...ill being thought of you...now...only love and compassion..SOoooo..many of US...have lived thur a similar pain that you are experiencing now....

Thanks for letting us know how you are all doing... Those hospice nurses are angels of mercy........Your Mom knows how lucky she is to have had you as her daughter and I am sure you are telling her how much she means to you, be strong and....prayers for both of you....

Thanks, Susan, for the update. And adding my continued prayers and comforting good wishes to the many others here for you and your mom. Hoping her remaining days are as comfortable as can be, and as said, the hospice folks are great, a real blessing at times like this.

I also echo Goofyposter's thoughts, you are dealing with real people here, almost all are amongst the most caring people I have encountered in my life. At times like this, consider yourself blessed to have people like this to lean on, Susan. Many {hugs} and God's blessings for you and mom.
