Hi all, i just got home from the hospital.Shae had the Colonoscopy and they are saying that she has Chrohns Colitis and they rate it from mild,moderate or sever and she has very severe.The doctor told us that it her colon was very irritated and ugly and they also found ulcers in her colon.They are going to try and treat it with a steriod and if that does not work they will be doing surgery and removing her colon:( .He told us that hrs was so severe that he was worried that the steriod may not help it that much.We do not know when she will get to come home,he said that they will monitor her and if it does not help they will be doing surgery so i am thinking that it may be a week or so before they decide.I am hoping that if they have to remove her colon that the colostomy will be temporary instead of permanent.They said they did not see any cancer but are going to do some biopsies to be sure.But i will take that and run with it;) .She is still in alot of pain:( but they also have her on antibiotics and anti inflammatory so maybe she will be feeling better soon.
Thanks again for all the Prayers that have been said for my DM and my family.
I have got my little sister and she is only 10:o .Please say a prayer that she dont drive me crazy.Between trying to work as much as i can right now incase she has to have surgery and watching my DS and going to the hospital i will be drained.

Continuing to send prayers. Good news about no cancer. I hope she makes good progress and starts feeling some relief from the pain.

I hope they can finally make her comfortable and calm her system down so she'll begin to heal, I know it's merciless.

You can only do so much, so please do what you can and try to recognize your limits. You will be of no use to anyone if you get yourself run down and sick....so please take care of yourself too.

I do know exactly how you feel. About 3 years ago, I was visiting my mother daily an hour from here in a rehab hospital for her stroke, taking care of my 2 kids and nursing my husband who had had major knee surgery and a bout of Crohns at the same time - I couldn't do it all and felt so totally overwhelmed that I just burnt out mentally and physically. I had NO help nor did I ask for any. I regret that now.

My continued thoughts and prayers to you all...keep us updated as you can.

((((HUGS))))

Thanks so much.It was a relief about no cancer.
Lorix, i know what you mean about getting burnt out.i took care of my DGM for about 3 years before she passed away,i just got my life back in 2001 and now this.It is veryhard sometimes but its my DM so i got to do it:p .on the other hand i my have my little sister strung up by her toes before it is all over with,LOL.

Misty,
So happy to hear that it looks clear and that she is on meds. It was amazing how fast my Mom turned around once she started on the Prednisone (steroid). Just be prepared for her to want to eat everything in site and she will "bulk up". That part my Mom hated, but compared to the alternative, I love her no matter how she looks!!!!!

Cathy, that is what they have her on.My aunt has to have the shots and told me that mom would look like her and be fat, i said i dont care just as long as she gets better is all i care about.I cant wait till the day that mom starts eating,because the last few weeks have been to where she could not eat anything.

Misty, you just remind her of how she felt when she was sick and size doesn't matter at all!!

I remember my Mom calling me one morning and tell me she was DREAMING about food, she could just smell the bacon and eggs...so she got up and made some.....at 4 am!!!!!!!! :p I was thrilled!!!!

Hopefully your Mom will be as fortunate and you won't have to "deal with" your little sister!! ;)

Take care,
Cathy

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear that it isn't cancer. Continued prayers for her continued improvement {{hugs}}

Misty, just read about your mom. She will be in my prayers. I lost my dad to colon cancer that spread throughout his body last July. My mom had colon cancer when I was about 14. She is a survivor and has been cancer free for about 17 years. Thank God.

I am glad to hear your mom doesn't have cancer.

Take care of yourself. I can imagine your little sister needs you more than you know and is greatful to have you to take care of her.

You and your family will be in my prayers.

Diane

Good to hear your mom does not have cancer, Misty. My continued best and prayers for her, wishing her all well. {{Hugs}}

I'm glad to hear that the doctors feel it's not cancer. That's great news, Misty. Now to get the other stuff under control. I know how stressful it is to run between households, work, visit and keep up your own house and home! Take good care of yourself! :)
