Sorry I haven't been around much I have been very busy lately dealing with my moms medical issues.

In 2008 Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer which she beat in Jan 2009 just in time for her 59th birthday.
In March of 2010 she found another lump in the same breast. She had the lump removed in May 2010. The lump itself was not Cancer but the "junk" around it was. Because the doctors can't figure out how the Cancer came back in a radiated breast, she now has to have that breast removed. We got her talked into and comfy with that decision. The doctor's said after the breast is removed she will not have to go trough cemo or radiation again.

During her pre-testing exam for the May 2010 breast lump removal the doctors saw some adnormalities on the scan on her lungs. She can not have the breast removed until they figure out what is going on with her lungs. For the last month or so we have been dealing with trying to find out if she has lung cancer. We will find that out tomorrow. My Dad past away in 1996 and the prime old age of 49 from Cancer - cemo was horrible for him so Mom WILL NOT go through Cemo no matter what.....

thanks for letting me babble.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom's problems. I will keep her and your family in my prayers. My father is fighting breast cancer at the moment so I do understand some of what you are going through.

thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.

Here the latest news.
We went yesterday to get the results of the PET scan on the lungs. The lung doctor's partner really didn't give us a clear answer about Mom's lungs and gave his the thumbs up for the breast removal.
Mom doesn't like the Lung doctor's partner so we went to see her surgeon (we love him) after talking to the lung doctor's partner and he (the surgeon) explained everything to us.

Basically it comes down to this.
They are not sure if Mom has lung Cancer or not. The "cloud" on both of her lungs are 1 cm or less. The PET scan can not tell what it is because it is too small and no other scan can either. So what the surgeon recommends is Cemo no breast removal for now. If she does have lung Cancer removing the breast will no longer help her. They will do another scan in a couple months and if there is no change in the lungs then she didn't have cancer in her lungs and then they will remove her breast. Cemo will help the cancer from spreading from her breast, if it is not cancer in her lungs...

Mom has an appointment on Monday with the Cancer doctor and we will see what she says. This is the doctor I find to be an idiot but mom likes her so we will see what she says.

I told mom that she WILL do Cemo cause it's not fair for her grandkids to lose another grandparent. OK so I guilted her into it but she agreed. She didn't like it when I used guilt to make her agree to my way of thinking. Got to love when you can use your own mother's parenting skills on HER

Again thank you

Rebecca, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I will keep him in my prayers.

I am sorry to hear you and your Mom are going thru this. Thoughts and prayers coming your way. Remind Mom that medical treatments are changing, her treatment will most likely be much different than your Dad had.

Keep us posted on her progress.
