Today was the doctor's appt and I knew we would be starting treatment again soon as he has not been feeling well..

We are scanning next week, then the port goes in a few days after that, followed by a chemo regime of 5FU and Oxaliplatin every other week....the port is accessed and 5FU is administered by meter as well as the Oxyplaitin. This will be done at the infusion department of Mass General for 3 hours and then if I have it right he leaves with the 5FU meter administering that chemo for the 3 days. We then come back on the third day and they disconnect him. This goes on for 6 months..

It is a bit confusing to me as well, but it is what it is.. His chances that this treatment will knock it out of the ballpark is 10%....nice, huh??
We have had 4 years in November and with this kind of Cancer we are thankful for that.

I am still praying for a miracle.....we are not in charge here so you never know.. Anyway, I wanted to update, if I am slow in responding, it is because I will be back and forth to the hospital and taking care of DH....

I thank my fellow mods who check in here all the time with love and support for those who need it... they know who they are..

I believe in miracles and prayers being answered. You and your family have been in my daily prayers and you will be for as long as needed. Hang in there and know that others are thinking good thoughts and praying for you. You seem very strong and you always seem to be there for others now it is our turn to be there for you. Keep us posted when you are able to.

Miracles do indeed happen, Marsha, they do. My best, with prayers, for Tommy, and you also. Hoping for good results.

I must agree with Dan. Miracles do happen. Continued prayers for Tom, for you, and for the doctors and caregivers who are doing all that they can to get rid of the beast.

Jim and I are praying for you both, and your families, and for a miracle for Tom as well.

Oh Marsha, you know my prayers are said each day for Tom here. Please keep the faith, and know that no one else would be more deserving of a miracle than your Tommy...hugs my friend.

You and your dh have been in my prayers for a while and will continue to be as long as you need. Take care. I believe in miracles too!

You both will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. And I also truely do believe that miracles do happen.

Marsha:

I am praying that Tom will get a good result from this round of treatment.

I will keep you both in my prayers.

it is what it is..

If Randy only knew how many times he has inspired other people with those words.....
Marsha my continued prayers for both of you , this is hard on everyone but especially Tom . As a caregiver though you have to take care of yourself too , don't forget that.
I hate cancer.....

Marsha,

I will keep you and Tom in my prayers. We will get a miracle someday in PC and I hope your Tom is one of them.. I know the journey you are on too well and I will be praying for you both every step of the way....

I truly hesitated posting this because I did not want to remind those who have lost loved ones to PC of the horrific journey.. *sigh* Hugs to you all who have been there, done that and yet can still muster up words of encouragement for me. Whether it is PC or any other cancer, the road is so difficult for the patient and the caregivers..........we do the very best we can one day at a time.. and yes Kanga, I HATE CANCER TOO.

I thank you all for being here, praying for my DH and caring for each other. This is a great board and I am thankful to Pete for allowing it.

Hugs and Prayers Mackey Mouse. You sound like such a strong women and loving wife. Hang in there:wizard:

Cancer sucks what can I say. I always keep coming back here to hear the updates, and support everyone as best as I can. You are all fighters, and I pray that you will win. Marsha and Tom I will be thinking of you in these times ahead.

Marsha-I've been reading your posts and have never responded because I just don't know what to say. Just know that someone else is out there praying for you and Tom. From one New Englander.....to another......God bless.

Lots of hugs being sent & prayers being said! God be with you both on this next part of the journey!
