Update on Gastric Bypass Buffet Discount

Previously, I have been able to do the Goofy's Kitchen buffet at the child's price when I showed my medical card stating I've had GB. While there earlier this week I was told there was a new manager at GK and he was no longer allowing the discount. Not sure about the other buffets. Thought this might help in some people's planning!

I agree! I don't mind paying for the experience of the character breakfast, but when you eat one small plate of food it is expensive! I always ask at all the buffets at both Disneyland and World if they'll honor the child's price with my medical card. Most have in the past.

If my 10 year old can't order from the child's menu why should an adult be able to ? My 10 year old hardly eats anything... BUT because she is 10 and Disney's policy is to charge 10 years and up adult prices I have to pay an adult price if we choose to eat here. It is your choice to eat at this location......If and when we do we pay full price but honestly the amount eaten is hardly anything.....

If Disney is going to allow me a discount, I'm going to take it. I don't demand it, I ask if they'll do it. If not, so be it, I pay the full price.

We have to pay full price for our daughter and she is physically unable to eat at the restaurants. Ocassionally they will let her in at a reduced cost, but more often than not they will not.

Now is Storytellers Cafe the same price for breakfast since the allow you to order off the menu? Or do you still pay the buffet price and are able to order whatever you want off the menu?

At Storytellers or PCH Grill if you order off the menu you pay the price for the item you order. If you want the buffet in addition, you would pay for both. I like the option of ordering off the menu. I wish more character meals had this option as that works the best for me.

Then that seems ideal for a person with GB surgery since he is only paying for what little he eats!

I totally agree with this. The pricing is set by age and that is the pricing that should be paid by all. I have lost nearly 80 pounds through portion control & exercise, so when I go to buffets I don't get my "money's worth" eitehr but I still have to pay full price.

Its all about choice. There is nothing saying you have to go to the buffet when you can go to any one of the other places to eat and only have to pay for what you order/eat. If you choose to go to a buffet you are choosing to pay for it.

I have a lap band and never asked for the discount, my 9 year old eats way more then i do so it evens out.
