Update:(months later) to Help a Disappointed Honeymooner

Thanks so much for all your help in October!! I had originally posted then. We stayed at GF for our HM, we could'nt have our booked HM suite b/c Hurricane Jeanne had damaged it. They weren't going to refund us the difference, they were SO RUDE and MEAN to us on top of it. Well, I wrote to customer service and the head of GF at your suggestions and LAST week they refunded my credit card over $1000 (which was the amt due to us). I am still very disappointed in the whole situation, but thanks to you all, I got my money back at least. Thanks everyone!

I am so glad it worked out for you! It often means just getting your information to the "right" person...and I'm sure it was a stressful time for all involved and many don't have the "skills" they should have when working in the resort industry for handling such problems.

That is so good to hear. Thank you for posting the outcome. Although I am still sorry about the issues that you encountered during your stay, I am glad that at least they got your money back to you. :D
 
Glad to hear you got your money back and congratulations on your wedding!

We stayed at the GF - Honeymoon Suite for part of our Honeymoon in May 2003 and we had the worst service and the staff was so rude. We didn't get the special check-in (checked in a regular desk), special concierge elevator was broken on several occasions! They continually got our names wrong. Overall it was just a very bad hotel experience. So I wrote them a long letter, stating what I paid for each night and what was promised and never delivered. I got a response letter saying they were sorry and signed photo of Mickey Mouse.
Now I was not looking for a refund, but a sincer apology and not a form letter would of been nice. Therefore, we will never stay at GF again.
We have continually stayed at the YC Concierge, which treated us so magically for our honeymoon!!
Just thought I would share! :)
