You know, I'm not sure how the animals are going to react. This is the first time any major storm has hit this area in a long, long time and I believe the first for AKL/AK.

Yes but Floyd never made landfall in this area. While it was technically a more powerful storm than Charley currently is, and several precautions were taken, the impact from Floyd was minimal...I think we got a touch of rain...that was it. Whereas Charley is coming right over the Florida peninsula...comparing Floyd and Charley is apples and oranges. WIth Floyd, if you dind't realize there was a hurricane out there because of all the coverage, you'd just think it was another overcast, slightly rainy day. But with Charley, we'll be well aware that there's a major hurricane we're dealing with.
