Update from the front line - 11-7-21 (A.K.A. park report)

Any tips for increasing a score? I am one of the people who never even comes close to those types of scores.
Disregard if you already know this, but posting it here in case anyone else isn't aware. The diamonds and triangles are worth more points than the circles and squares. Everything is worth more points when the edges are illuminated. There's the black hallway that you move through towards the end and there is one Z that is worth a ton more points I think? Someone feel free to add onto this/correct if I missed any details. I don't know how much more the diamonds/triangles are for example, I just know they are worth more points.

There are a number of things you can do but mainly I'd say only shoot high-value targets -- triangles and diamonds -- and shoot them as many times as you can. Don't waste time on circles. One triangle (10,000) is worth 100 circles (100). Also, in the first room there are two triangles: one on each side of the large robot's right hand. I can hit them at least ten times on average (sometimes more, sometimes less, obv) so that's 100,000 points in the first room alone. Also, when a target is lit, it's worth more: diamonds are 10,000 triangles are 50,000. Hope these tips help.

Go on… I usually just shoot at the one in the roof in that area or the pendulum triangle in the previous room if I still have a clear shot at it. Would love to know if one Z is worth more than the others.

I didn’t know about the back hand triangle, I usually just spam the diamond on the wall opposite the robot when the first triangle passes me by.

For Rob, in the last room do you go for Zerg or the triangle behind him or the jack in the box triangle?

I feel like the two areas where I’m not getting as much points as I should are after the first Zerg and the final Zerg room.

I’m usually at like 150k after the first room, around 400k if I can tag Zerg 1 a few times, and yet for some reason I’m rarely breaking 1 million. Usually in the high 800s low 900s.

All three, actually. When you first enter that room, pretty much the only thing you can hit is the triangle behind Zurg. I usually hit it five or six times then the Zurg and then the triangle in the box.

High 800s/low 900s is actually really good. Such scores probably fall in the 95th percentile (or thereabouts). I nearly always leave the first room with 250,000 - 300,000. Later in the game, I usually hit the triangle behind the pendulum ten-plus times. Maybe that would help you to consistently score more than 1M.

Know one thing: once your score exceeds 2,096,000 (not exactly sure where but probably if you get to 2,097,000) it resets and you lose everything. That hasn't happened to me in a few weeks but it's always maddening when it does. As you all know, scores beyond 1M don't display on the cruiser. You have to (try to) keep track of them in your head. Not always so easy and it explains why I/other players go beyond 2,096,000 on occasion. Sometimes I'll think I scored something like 1.5M and when I get to the photo kiosk, I'll find that it was a higher score -- perhaps 1.7M. That's always a nice surprise. It's a nasty surprise, however, when a high score doesn't come through or you find that you went over 2,096,000 by, like, 3000 points.

Quick question.
I see the price on the toffee apples/candy apples not sure what you call them. Does that price include tax or is that added on later? I can't remember from my last trip.

We were there this past Sunday. We were at the front of the rope drop for Adventureland. I was looking for you in your Cubs hat but did not see you. I was going to introduce myself and say hi. I should say I looked for you at the front of the rope drops for Fantasyland not Adventureland as I know you always head there first.

We will be there again this Sunday, maybe we will be in the front with you as we plan on going to Peter Pan first this visit.

Oh, awesome. Yes, by all means come and say hello. Since Sunday will be Dapper Day at the park, I’ll probably be wearing a sort-of pinstriped hat (as well as my flowered Wonka vest. But I’ll definitely be at the front of the rope to the right of the hub :-).
