We leave very soon so this will probably be my last post!
I'll try and update as best I can. There are some things still in the works and I have a lot to cram in a short number of days.
We finished our MBs! I only have pictures of mine. Sorry! You'll just have to wait until my TR to get everyone else's. The original goal was that we were going to work on these together and then I would keep them all and pack them up. Well, we started work one night but didn't finish so my family mutinied and took theirs to work on at home.

Boo! That is why I don't have pictures because I haven't even seen them!
DMom (red MB) did hers like Minnie Mouse with white dots over it. (white paint pen)
Nature Girl used sharpies to draw birds on her yellow band.
Bubbles (pink MB) used nail polish to make hers pink argyle.
I used a very thin black paint pen (we found that very thin works the best and you have the most control) to paint tiger stripes on my orange band.
This is before I put on the top coat:
I wish that I didn't have to put on the top coat but we found out that if we don't, the paint rubs off just with normal use. So, the top coat had to go on. I don't have pictures of that, I had to dab the top coat on because the paint pens smeared (even after drying completely!) if I brushed it on.
I also plan on buying some MB covers in Disney to mix it up a bit. We'll see if the top coat can survive the rubbing.

OH! I almost forgot. Life update! Nature Girl just got engaged last week!!
We really like her fiance. A lot. So we're all very happy. That means another wedding in the future - probably next summer. Yay!

We are also working on our Halloween costumes. Well, mine's all done. I am going to be Belle again. Have to use my awesome costume!
DMom is going to go as Minnie. It's a black shirt, red with white polka dotted skirt, black leggings (optional since it is going to be so hot!), Minnie Ears, and
Crocs spray painted yellow. The crocs actually make it all come together, surprisingly enough. It's like their big shoes.
Nature Girl is going as Robin Hood from the Disney cartoon movie. Currently, we are sewing on fox ears to a head band and then going to attach a hat. We have a tail made as well and it's going to attach to a belt. Nature Girl also bought a green t-shirt dress that looks pretty awesome. I can't wait to see it all put together. We are crunched for time, though!
Bubbles is going as Tinkerbell. I found some great wings at the Minnesota State Fair (weird place to find them but whatever!) and her and mom made a petal skirt out of tulle. And that is all I know about her costume. I assume that she'll be wearing some sort of green shirt on top. Not sure about her shoes.
And DDad is a party pooper and will not be attending the Halloween party.
I made cards that DMom had laminated. They are like playing cards - they have the AKL logo on the back of each of them and on the front is a Disney character. Each character represents one of us - I'm Belle, Nature Girl is Robin Hood, Bubbles is Tinkerbell, DMom is Remy, and DDad is Mr. Incredible. We're going to use them to decide things - like who sits with whom for rides and how we're going to sit together on the plane (we have three together and then two together and no one wants to sit with DMom because she gets claustrophobic and antsy on planes

), etc. We made ones for our trip in 2011 with some extended family and it worked really well.
I also ironed on a new-school Minnie and Mickey kissing onto a light blue shirt. It looks pretty good. I think most of my clothes are going to be tanktops and either shorts or a skirt. It's just too hot to do anything else.
As for a bag, I found one at the Global Mamas booth at the State Fair. It's all clothing and accessories made by women in Ghana. The bag is a smaller, cross body pouch bag. I think that and the other bag that I already have will have to do. We've decided that we don't want to be too burdened by stuff while we're there. We may get a locker to put a change or clothes for at the end of the day before dinner. Otherwise, I'm going to try and travel light. It's the ponchos that can get really heavy. Everyone has got to carry their own instead of me carrying everyone's. I deliberately haven't looked at the forecast and DMom just announced that it's supposed to rain every day while we're there. I kind of got mad and told her that we weren't supposed to look. She said that she could look if she wanted and I said that was true but she doesn't have to tell anyone and that I was deliberately not looking so that it wouldn't stress me out. I'm still a little irritated that she even said something. I've told her in the past that I don't want to know. I'm trying to very hard to go with no worries or concerns and be more relaxed and she KNOWS this and still she tells me.
I know that she wasn't thinking and I know that she wanted to share a worry of her own but after the last week that I had (I was in charge of a two day event where we had 160 poster presenters and 1600 attendees) - and she knows about this! - she should have known better. I know that I'm probably asking too much and it was just a slip of the tongue and I'm just ranting here to get it out and over with (I realize I'm being ridiculous). This is part of my problem, but I work SOOO hard to think about all the possible outcomes of my words and my actions and how it will affect others and what I need to do to do the absolute best thing possible that when someone doesn't do the same and says something that they should have thought about really gets under my skin. I am working to let some of that over analytical thinking go but it's a bit hard. My mind has a hard time stopping. I realize that not everyone is like this (Bubbles!) and I need to cut people slack. Again, I'm working on it. With mixed results, obviously. <sigh> Rant over. I feel better.
Well, sorry for that - I gotta run, I'm being picked up to go to lunch and they are almost here and I need to change into something more appropriate for public! Lounge shorts and a tank top are a little too casual - and cold! I need something warmer as it is currently in the low 50s here. Orlando is going to be a shock.
I'll see if I get time later to post a couple more things but if I don't - I'll see you on the flip side!!
