I can hardly believe that we are planning this trip, especially when a week ago it was not even in the works...but we have booked our 6 night trip to WDW starting June 6th, and my girls don't even know.

Here is who is headed on our trip:
image369.jpg

This is a picture from our last August trip. It was a great trip and we celebrated our oldest daughter's birthday during the week.

The trip will be just the 4 of us:
DH- for someone who does not profess love of Disney he sure agreed to this trip easily. He calls for days off..... he is not a park touring commando and really likes pool and relaxing days. Since he works hard and cooperates on going if I agree, we compromise well.

Me- a teacher, and someone who never thought she would be going to WDW pregnant. However since we have a 2 year old who can't ride a lot of the rides pregnant mommies can't ride it will work out fine. I am blessed with easy pregnancies and I am sure as long as we take plenty of days off and I drink lots of water will be fine!

Hannah, who is 4.5 and a huge Disney Fan. She still talks about our trip all the time and would go back in an instant. Her favorite ride was Splash Mountain, but really she enjoyed everything, especially our princess meals. She will be beyond thrilled to go back to WDW!

Em who is 2( today) and also is quite the WDW girl. She likes Donald Duck- calls McDonald's Donald Ducks and is like her sister in her princess loving. She was such a great traveler last trip, I know she will be even more fun at 2.

We had hoped to go back late August this year... but we are having a baby just after Labor Day. That made that planned trip a no. We did have some airline money to use by the end of November, so we considered a trip after the baby in the fall. But going with three seemed like a daunting task, which lead to me to checking flights for early June and wondering if we just went to the parks a couple of days and mostly relaxed poolside if we could get one last trip in as a family of 4?

Coming soon: our plans and how a compulsive planner like me can plan out a trip ASAP!

What a beautiful family you have! Congratulations on the baby!:goodvibes Looking forward to more!:surfweb:

You have a beautiful family! Congratulations on having another one! Are you going to find out what you are having?

This is our second trip going in June (actually my third if you count the one in 1987), and it wasn't bad at all last year. Just rest in the afternoon at your resort and you will be fine! Like you said, take lots of breaks -- which will make for a good reason to have frozen Cokes, root beer floats, Dole Whips, and Mickey bars :thumbsup2 .

Looking forward to hearing more!

I can't wait to hear more :thumbsup2

Thanks for joining! So glad to have readers. I promise to update and post a full report in a timely manner!

Thanks, another reader!

The girls have gotten even bigger since that pic.... it makes me sad. Hopefully I won't be a huge whale in the trip pics this time!

I am in awe that you are keeping a surprise too.... I wonder if I will make it 90 days.....:confused3

With the girls we did not know... but we are finding out this time. I just wonder what it is like to know...and by chance if it is a boy we will have a major girl sale this summer!

I am a fan of early June until we went in late August last year.... we will have to see. I dread the poncho time, we did not have any rain in August which I loved. I do plan to eat some Mickey Bars and try a Dole whip!

We found out both times (DH and I are the most impatient people, I know), and it was neat. We were able to choose names and then refer to the baby by her/his name the rest of the time.

We were actually really lucky last year with rain. It only rained one day when we were at Epcot. I was snug inside Mousegears shopping away, but DH, DD, and DS got drenched when they ran from Mission:Space to Mousegears. I am hoping we are as lucky this year!

That's so funny you're keeping it a surprise too! We are TRYING to keep it from our DD. Since we're flying this time, I think it will be easier than trying to explain an 18 hour car ride. We have a pool going as to just when she'll put it all together. I think she'll get it when she sees the ME buses....

Aww, your little ones are adorable :) I'm suprised she isn't calling McDonalds Mickey D's! That's what I called it ;) Or Mickey Donald's ;) Anywoo, I'm here and ready to read!

I wonder how long it will take me to spill the surprise. We saw two WDW commericals today and Hannah was so excited..... but I think waking her up and saying we are going to WDW would be tons of fun!

I am kinda sad... she is starting to call it McDonald's which is not as cute! Guess that is what happens when you turn 2!

I still call it what I said before :confused3 I guess some people grow up too quickly :snooty:

So how did this trip come to be....Monday was a pretty typical day until I surfed Delta.com and started to see some good flights, direct from Cincy to Orlando for the beginning of June. I then also called WDW to get some rate checks for the moderates and values. While we all loved WL- I was thinking a short cheaper trip was all we could do- we are moving in a few weeks and with a baby coming... not a lot in the vacation pot this year. My plan was 5 nights, with maybe three park days. I also felt strongly about a morning flight to WDW and an evening flight home.... I hate losing a day on either end, so I had some possible things for DH to consider. I dropped a hint on the phone... and well he did not say "NO" so that is a good thing I thought.

We got the girls to bed and studied the flights - and booked:banana: Friday 6/6 through Thursday 6/12. He actually pushed for the extra night!!!!! We agreed to three park days, with a day off in between, which is good for me being pregnant and him wanting a vacation! By this point WDW resies were closed so I had a job to do the next morning- to book us a hotel. We also agreed to keep it a surprise.... I am sure DH just does not want to hear all the details....and we have told nobody our big plans... we want to keep Hannah in surprise, and we know if we tell.... someone will slip!

So where to stay- right away DH said WL of course. DH was not happy to realize what the WL would be for 6 nights, even with AAA rate- remember that our August trip was during Value season, and now we are hitting summer rates- yuck! We crossed it off our list and said next time!

Where to stay:
We considered POP- we stayed before and thought it was nice, and since it does not share buses with the other values it could work. But no slides at the pool... and Hannah sure loved the WL slide. Also no boat to DTD- we love POR for that reason!

POR- We both love it, but last trip there we stayed forever far away, on the third floor. It kinda ruined our feelings towards the resort and we both said we would never let a room be that far away again! However we love the grounds, the pool, the foodcourt.....

POFQ- gets a great review from DISers, but the food court is small I always felt. However it is compact, we can still venture to POR, we would board buses first (impt. when pregnant to get a darn seat!) and we know that the slide would be a hit and still a boat ride to DTD.

But where would we decide? Coming up soon!

So where did I decide to stay when I called WDW bright and early on Tuesday morning?

POFQ!
This is a new place for us all.... and I think that the small size of the resort will be nice for our little ones legs and my pregnant self. I did mention we want a first floor room and that I would be pregnant- so I think my dh will send me to check us in, who give a pregnant lady a far away room?

So remember... I agreed to three park days---- and how can I decide what we want to do? DH and I have old days left on passes, but Hannah will need a ticket. I am probably leaning to not park hopping... to keep her ticket cost down, but might get a longer visit pass for her that non-expires. I am also a fan of Tour Guide Mike- great experiences last August using his plans and advice, so joined us back up again.

So what parks do we plan to tour: remember no imput from the girls... they do not know! So we decided two MK days and one EPCOT day. This was pretty easy for me: our last trip we had two MK days and really loved it- it our favorite park for the ages of our girls. We also would like to see Wishes this time so Hannah can see Tink (read the last report to hear this sad story!)

As for EPCOT- that single handly was our best "day" of the trip. We had a great time at WS and touring Future World. I had never been an EPCOT fan, but now I can't wait to check it out again!

As for skipping MGM and AK, here is my reasons: Our girls did not like MGM- Hannah states there is no rides for kids there and well AK is just too hot- I really think it is a good 10 degrees hotter there. We always wear out quick there! So two days at MK and one EPCOT day it will be.

So this is our plan so far:

Friday June 6- arrive to POFQ around noon. Swim and have a relaxing day.

Saturday June 7- EPCOT

Sunday June 8- rest day

Monday June 9- Magic Kingdom

Tuesday June 10- rest day

Wednesday June 11- Magic Kingdom

Thursday June 12-head home late afternoon

So what fun should we plan on our rest days? Downtown Disney, Mini-Golf, Boat Rental, Resort Hopping?

Advice is always appreciated! We have some experience being a resort bum- we went Spring Break when Hannah was nine months old and only went to MK one day.... so we are happy to swim and relax, but I think that we need some adventures too!

Up next: Eating.... very important when you are pregnant! Where should we eat... and can you get ADRs with only 90 days out?

Hopefully, you will love POFQ as much as we do! Your girls will definitely love the serpent slide at the pool!

Your plans sound super! I adore Epcot -- it didn't use to be my favorite park, either, but it has been the last couple of trips. I think I find it more fun now that we have kids because of all the interactive stuff for them. We also love all the food there.

Downtown Disney is always fun. DH and I did miniature golf at Disney back in 1998 -- had a good time with that. There is also a free campfire sing-along with Disney movie over at Fort Wilderness (I think every night) -- there is a sticky at the top of the camping boards. That might be fun one evening.

Congrats on choosing POFQ! I think it is a great choice for your family! I think your plans look great! It will be so nice having the boat to DTD that will give you some options if you get tired of just hanging around the resort! I would def. check out the other resorts.:goodvibes

Love the pic of you and your family. The girls are just adorable! And congratulations on your new baby!

Can't wait for more of your PTR!! :surfweb:

I know Hannah will tame the slide easily... she loved the WL slide. I do think that Emily will brave the POFQ one... watch out for that wild child. Plus we will for sure go down to POR for a pool day too, so we will have that slide to have fun on too!

I am totally excited to explore EPCOT... but sad because I doubt that Pregnant I can ride soarin???? And DH does not care for it and Hannah did not like it, so nobody in my group might ride that- YIKES!!!!!! Hopefully DH can ride Test Track- he had bad luck last time!

MiniGolf might be an excursion... and I think that the campfire at Ft. Wilderness might be fun, we talked about trying to get there when we were at WL but never made it there!

I think your AKL is the top resort I want to check out.. you will have to let me know what all a visitor can do and if it worth it to take a bus ride over there! I don't think Boma is our type of dinner but I am sure we could Counter Service it for a meal during our mini-visit!

Love the pic of you and your family. The girls are just adorable! And congratulations on your new baby!

Thanks for joining in!

I love your PTR so far. I'll be staying at POFQ in Oct., so I'll be anxious to read your review. I'm also secretly jealous of the rest days you have planned. I always say I'm going to take a day off from a park when I'm at Disney, but I always seem to break my own rules!
I agree with what everyone else said for ideas: pool time, resort hopping, DTD, FW campfire, etc.
Maybe even renting a boat at POR would be fun?
Good luck keeping a surprise. I'm taking my younger sis as a surprise in Dec., and I have no idea how I'll manage to protect this secret until then! :confused3
Can't wait to hear more!
