I wonder if it will be for merchandise? The location mentioned was the old "Art of Shaving" location. If they do open another location, I think they will sell something other than cookies. My opinion only!
I think Disney has its own charm and style when it comes to cookies and baked goods. Gideons just doesn’t fit inside the parks IMO.They don't need another location in Disney Springs. They should work on opening locations inside the parks.
Or open one on the Boardwalk. They'd have their choice of empty spaces right now. They don't need another location in Disney Springs. They should work on opening locations inside the parks.
They should put one there for sure! Pair Gideon’s with a sandwich shop themed to Reuben… it would be a great QS combo!Or open one on the Boardwalk. They'd have their choice of empty spaces right now.
Gideons has been a great study of a tiny niche business taking off. Their East End location was/is a great starter location to build a brand and they are a perfect fit for Disney Springs.
No not really manufactured at all.. Before it ever appeared in Disney Springs, Gideons had (and still has) a very successful East End Marketplace location, a business that started in 2016. It was there that the viral cookie lines started... before they ever opened up in Disney Springs in 2021... so a full five years of being a successful business later.Except it’s manufactured success. Disney hand picks some small businesses and provides restricted and opportunities for them. See Splitsville’s interview with the LA Times in which the owner said Disney made the Springs and later Downtown Disneyland locations happen (Disney approached owner and provided the rescues). No way Gideon’s would’ve had the resources to open at DS to begin with.
No doubt social media and the Disney community have made Gideon’s larger than life. Quite frankly while the cookies are good, they’re nothing exceptional. If you want the latter, try Last Crumb. All mail order these days and it isn’t cheap but unlike Gideon’s it’s worth the price IMO.

Gideons does not have a location in Disneyland.
you can dislike on Gideons all you want. There’s almost no chance a small business would have the capital and liquidity to open a DS locations. Hence my comparison to Splitsville, which has openly acknowledged that without support from Disney it would never had opened in DS and later DTDL.
Disney Springs and Downtown Disneyland have both featured a handful of small businesses that were handpicked by Disney. Some have enjoyed more success than others, and some didn’t make it.
