Update 11/23/02 Good News - Mailing letter to my biological father tomorrow

Well, I have good news. My husband put the letter in the mail on Monday the 19th and guess what my biological father called me last night. The 20th!!!

He is going to be calling be back tonight at 9pm. He has gone back to college at 54 to get his teaching degree. So he is a college student.

I just wanted to update the board and say so far so good and I cannot say thank you enough to all of you who offered support and sent pixie dust.

That is so wonderful for you! I know that a lot of people were probably cringing at the thought that he might just ignore you and the hurt you might feel by putting yourself out there, but fortunately things worked out. A phone call is definitely a start. I hope things work out for you.

He said he is interested in meeting. So he is suppossed to call back tonight at 9pm and then we will take it from there. I am hoping he has an email address so I can send him some pictures. I am trying to not get my hopes up to much and just take it one interaction at a time.

He said what I thought he was going to say that when my mother refused to marry him and started dating someone else he took that as a sign that she did not want him to come around. So he did not. He said that he has thought about me through the years and that he does not have any other daughters so we will have to see what happens.

Hi All,

I cannot say thank you enough to all of you for your support and kind words and good wishes. Well, it looks like he is going to make the hour and a half drive from where he lives in MA to where I live in MA on Sunday so that we can meet.

He will be calling me either tonight or tomorrow night to firm up a time.

So far so good.
