Note that, at least with respect to the GC, that a Woods/Garden/Courtyard View room is less expensive with a 20% discount than a Standard Room with a 15% discount (not sure if there is a similar situation at DLH or PP).

I saw that deal come up a week or two ago....called to try and apply it to the trip we're doing in September (THU - SUN), and I couldn't because we have a 2-BR suite and these rates don't apply.

I checked on changing to a few standard rooms instead to see if it would price out better than the 2-BR suite with this deal, and they already had no rooms available at this rate.

Not sure about premium rooms (instead of standard)...but if interested, I would call immediately.

ETA...Never mind, I thought this was the AP offer that came out. This one is a little different, so my notes above may not apply. I would still look to book ASAP.

I was wondering if I had missed it, I had been checking Mousesavers and Disney Visa's website regularly (I assumed it would be offered to cardholder's first), but had not been checking DLR's website as regularly. Not sure if it came out this morning, but came across it when I checked DLR's website this morning.

Note that it says "not valid on previously booked rooms." If you already have a reservation, you may have to book a new one and cancel the old one.

I'm hoping they'll come out with a deal like this for Nov-Dec, like last year!

We just cancelled our travel package with Costco and rebooked through Orbitz with this discount...we were able to get another 15% off on top of the 20% this way! Plus they have the discounted Park Hopper tickets at Orbitz which saved even more money. We are paying $304/night for a Courtyard/Garden/Wood view at the Grand Californian for the first three nights of our stay...for the weekend the rate goes to $447/night, but we still saved close to $500 over the standard view we had booked through Costco.

This is cracking me up. Uh, how can you stay less than one night?

Just canceled the reservation I made this morning (through DLR) and did the same! forgot about the Orbitz angle, thanks!!! Also, I went through ebates, so maybe I can still get the 3.5% rebate!

Woot woot!!! :cool1:

At first, I was feeling mighty pleased with myself for booking a standard room at 20% off through Orbitz last March. Then, I read that KLK622 stacked 15% off on top of the 20% off through Orbitz. How do you do that?

I used the Promo Code Review15 at checkout. It was on mousesavers.com and works on any Disneyland Resort Hotel at checkout and it is 15% off the price of the hotel before taxes (but after any Disneyland promotions). It is an awesome deal.

thanks for the heads up, cancelled my orbitz trip for a courtyard view and went for the premium view, $30 more a nite wife said why not!

Yippee! We arrive the 24th and leave the 28th. I'm going to call first thing tomorrow morning.

As you mentioned, the Orbitz deal gives you 15% off the discounted rate (which is already 20% off), so it does not give a "full" 15% off the rack rate. I am not a math wizard by any stretch of the imagination, but I think that combining the two discounts together gives you an effective discount rate of 32% off the rack rate--because the room is already discounted by 20%, the 15% off orbitz deal is the equivalent of 12% off the Rack Rate: 0.15 - (0.15 x 0.2) = 0.12

I may be conceptualizing this wrong, but who cares! It's saving us lots of money!!! :thumbsup2

***My 100th post!***

Well I mentioned that because if you book for days that the discount doesn't apply (like the weekend) you still get 15% off...basically if take the price you see for Orbitz, which includes the 20% off and then take 15% off. It is a very good deal for us!

I just did what you suggested but booked through Shop Discover link for Orbitz so I could get 5% cash back (instead of 3.5% from Ebates) by using my Discover card. So I was able to get the 20% off that Disney is offering, 15% off by using the Orbitz code, and saved $200 over my old reservation! Did I mention that was even with an upgrade to a premium room from a standard room? :cool1:

KLK622--the promo code worked! Unfortunately, Orbitz said I couldn't cancel and rebook the vouchers for tickets that I booked with the hotel. Darn, I was hoping to upgrade to a view room!

why not just cancel the hotel portion? thats what I did and spoke to 2 different orbitz reps that the vouchers are still valid
