UnOfficial March 2012 Trip Planners Tread-DIS Meet 3/8 Info Pg 1

And expensive. :sad2:
:lmao::rotfl2:

G'luck to you looking to score a reservation! :woohoo:

I suppose when you have to pay for an entire family it could get costly with Adults being $23.99 and children $12.99 plus tax( not sure what peak rates are) but I look at it this way, if we go to a show we pay way more for just a seat and this includes some great treats. For what my trip is costing another $51 won't break the bank plus DH will be happy instead of being all grumpy being shoved and pushed by the fireworks crowd like in the past.

I am happy finally done with my ADR's (I think) :rotfl:

I'm really debating this. I'm confused though... When I go online to look at the times and it says I can book it for 7:00 or 7:20 on the night I'm wanting. Is that an error? Why would they have two times for one night? Also, are there tables to sit at or just seats? Since its a covered area, what are the people in the back supposed to do in order to see the fireworks? I know, lots of questions. I just want all of the answers before I book it and then be upset later.

They always stagger the check-in times so that everyone does not show up at the same time, not sure if it helps or not but if you do not have a dinner ADR that might interfer with the 1st check-in time I would book the 7pm. There are tables pre-assigned , there will be a name card on your parties table. Most get up and stand at the railing during the actual fireworks from what I have read. Have never done it myself before. If you go to page one of the dessert party thread I have posted a review with pics of the view. Tinkerbell flies right over the seating area from what I understand.
It is also 100% refundable as far as I know if you cancel the ADR, at least in Sept when I cancelled my reservation for my Oct date all the $ paid was refunded to my cc card.

Children under 3 are free.

Yeah, it was gonna be like $85 for us ... which is a bit much for fireworks and treats. So I think we'll pass. It would be nice to do, but we can't justify the cost to see a show that's included with admission - and we can go buy some yummy treats at the bakery for cheaper. :rotfl2:

Grats on being done with your ADRs!!! :woohoo:

I paid over $200 for the pirates and pals cruise :sad2:...but it was gift money, not hard earned cash! :rotfl2:

$200 IMO is not that bad it breaks down to only $40 pp and you have prime viewing of the Fireworks plus a cruise. I wish they had that when my DS were young. I always have justified what events/trips cost by the PP cost.

Back when we were a family of 4 the pp cost looked a lot better than now that it is just DH and I, for only 5 nites it is 1500 pp that is $300 a day but you never know what the future might bring or when a trip might be your last.

I agree wholeheartedly! DH and I sacrifice many things like going out to lunch with co-workers, dinner date nights (we stay home & eat in and watch "big people movies" on our date nights), I cook CHEAP meals throughout the week....we do all of this so that we have money to make memories with our children while they are at home with us! I want them to have lots of great stories to tell, and for them to make family a priority too when they have my grandkids! :lmao:

Yep DH were the same way while we were bringing up the boys, DH and I both grew up rather poor and never went on "family vacations" it was something we both felt was important and we wanted our DS to experience.

Now that I am older I have to say I do not regret for one minute all the $ we spent over the years.

My eldest DS and wife are forever telling me "money is tight" when we talk about maybe going here or there, even about taking vacation together but they go out every weekend, of course they can not save.

I wish DH and I could afford to pay for them to go to WDW with us but now that we are retired and living on a fixed income it is just not possible, I offered that they could share our room, I would pay the extra $50 a night but I can not afford to pay for their air or food.
I end up feeling guilty but then I have to remind myself of how often they do go out to eat and to concerts etc.

I booked the Wishes dessert party for the 9th of March! I'm so excited to do this with the girls. My youngest dd's are doing BBB and was trying to come up with something to do for my oldest dd and this is perfect! I know its on the expensive end, but like other people have said you just never know what the future holds. My middle DD has a mitochondrial disease and can be running around playing one day and so sick the next day she needs to be hospitalized. This is going to be a surprise for my 3 girls...I'm just REALLY REALLY hoping that Tinkerbell flies that night. In all our trips we have yet to see her fly :sad1:

Huzzah for 45 days! :woohoo: Comments above in Indigo! :goodvibes

I'm not asking for any specific buildings. I want to be surprised at check-in!

G'luck in scoring a standard or preferred room! :goodvibes

We have decided to eat at Kouzzina's instead of 1900PF. So we won't be seeing you there, but there's still lots of room for bumping! :yay: I wanted more time with DD, so we'll eat at BW and hop a boat to DHS for a few hours. I'm sad I'll miss out on 1900PF, but spending mommy-daughter time will be worth it in the end. :lovestruc

Oh yes, spending time is what it's all about. :lovestruc Enjoy your time together!!

No open rooms at CBR so far - is it really going to be that crowded? I was so surprised I asked if a section of the resort was closed or something! We'll see. I hope you get a fab room!

My heart goes out to you, it has to be hard dealing with your Middle DD illness  I was not aware that Tinkerbell did not fly sometimes...is it due to high winds? I think everytime I have seen the Fireworks she flew but hopefully she will fly this time and your DD will have a great view of her close up.:goodvibes

I spotted your post about your middle DD and I will say a prayer for her. Not many know about mito. My friend's DD became an angel just before her 3rd birthday, before they could have their Wish. Enjoy every minute of every day, and as funny as it may sound, I am also praying that you see Tinkerbell fly on this trip. It's truly a magical moment, one I'll never forget when I saw it with my son. Health and happiness to your family.

I noticed that the Mods seemed to be heavily booked for my time period (early March) I am thinking maybe because of FD during that period, plus the Spring Offer? Deluxe Resorts seem to have plenty of availability in most categories so I do not think the parks will be overly busy. I did not check Values

I could totally spend "someone else's" money. :lmao:

That sounds like such a magical day! :lovestruc My fingers are crossed that Tink flies!!!!!! :wizard:

I think it's just mods. With FD, they probably booked first, since people would rather pay a bit more for a mod and get free TS dining than pay less for a value and just get CS (or pay to upgrade, which in my case, it was cheaper to stay at a mod than to upgrade the DDP at a value).

I hope something opens up for you at CBR!

Tink doesn't fly unless the weather conditions are just "so" and if I understand correctly, Tink has to be weighed and do equipment checks. There's lots of reasons why Tink doesn't fly, however, she's flown every time we've been there. The odds of her flying are much higher than not. It could be something simple as unstable winds, or she has a cold. But that said, she flies more often than not! :goodvibes

I agree. I've still found rooms available at Values and Deluxes, just struggling to find rooms at mods. I really think it's because of FD on the mods. In most cases, it was cheaper to upgrade to a mod than it is to upgrade the DDP at a value (it was cheaper in my case to upgrade the resort over the DDP). :thumbsup2

Plus, I trust TP's numbers. They're human, and make mistakes, but they're almost always a point or two in the right. :thumbsup2

I think it was because of wind. When we were there in May, I was really hoping we would see her fly, but again no luck! The girls want to see Tinkerbell fly more than anything (as crazy as that sounds). Keep your fingers crossed...we have 2 nights at MK this trip...she has to fly one of those!!!

Thank you! I'm so sorry to hear of your friends loss. I know of too many mito kids that have lost there life early and it just breaks my heart. My daughter is not as severely affected as some kiddos I know. She just has low endurance, muscle issues (at times) and a host of other issues...thankfully at this time nothing very severe.

mom2_3girls I hope you and your girls get to see Tink fly. It really is magical. One time I watched from the bridge to Tomorrowland, and I could see her really well.

I just booked five nights at Pop (first time at Pop!) for March. I asked about free dining, but I must be too late in booking. We actually just did four nights at All-Star Sports last week, so 2012 is definitely a Disney year! :woohoo:

What are your dates Beiji? They'll want to add you to the list. I've never stayed at Pop either, but I dont particularly care for any of the values I've stayed at so far.

Must just be CBR, and becuase of the FD thing. Something should oopen up though. 45 day marks are coming up and folks will probably start to cancel their trips and get their refunds.
