UnOfficial March 2012 Trip Planners Tread-DIS Meet 3/8 Info Pg 1

I noticed that the Mods seemed to be heavily booked for my time period (early March) I am thinking maybe because of FD during that period, plus the Spring Offer? Deluxe Resorts seem to have plenty of availability in most categories so I do not think the parks will be overly busy. I did not check Values

Wow, I asked about Free Dining during my trip when I was having trouble getting a room (that's the first thing I assume is going on) and they said no, they didn't know when free dining would be this year. ?????? Am I missing out on something? I got the book 3 nights, get 1 free. Am I only entitled to one offer at a time? Would love to make my trip less expensive if at all possible. Any info is appreciated!

I'm glad to hear it's only the moderates that seem to be full, was starting to worry crowd levels would be higher than I thought.

What are your dates Beiji? They'll want to add you to the list. I've never stayed at Pop either, but I dont particularly care for any of the values I've stayed at so far.

We'll be at Pop March 4-9. First time at Pop and first time using Magical Express. I'm trying to save a little money. We found out last week that we're getting old (yeah, it was news!) and don't even feel like park hopping anymore, so we're saving some money there too.

FD ended sometime in December I think. Right now there is the Spring Offer RO % that ends in a few days and the promo you have.

Depending on what level resort you are staying and the length of your stay one might be better than the other, you just have to do the math.

Yes, 1 offer per booking. I have free dining and would have lost it if I booded the OMDD promo. On the other hand though, free dining expired for March back in Oct. I think, so that's probably why you could get free dining. I heard they may extend the dates, so you might want to check back.

I'm booked on FD. It ran up through December and included March. :goodvibes

Honestly, I think there's a % off room offer that might be better. I'd recommend going to the WDW website, clicking Special Offers (at the bottom) and pricing out your stay with a % off room offer and see if it's better. I know when I considered the math, I couldn't find the savings of the "Buy 3 nights, get one free" deal over the % off room. :sad2:

You can only book one offer at a time, so it's best to book the one that gives you the most bang for your buck! :thumbsup2

I think in only certain circumstances the "Buy 3, Get One Free" offer is even remotely decent. ;) When they advertised it, I actually LAUGHED. :lmao:

At the time I booked, which was only about 2 weeks ago, the 4th night free was cheaper by the %off (I think it was 20%?) by maybe $15 or so, so we went with the 4th night deal (agent was really helpful). I called today and the agent said that pin numbers were sent by marketing to specific people for FD in March - she looked at my account and didn't see a pin # for me.

So the 4th night free is what we have. No complaints because it gives us the extra time to fly a bit later and do some Nana-Mommy-DD shopping!!!! :cutie:

Just booked the Dessert Party for the 4th. Yay! I wasn't going to do it this time, but it was too tempting! It really is a nice spot to sit and watch fireworks without having to stake out a spot, and we both have a sweet tooth!
With our late (1:30) lunch at CP, we can grab a very light snack early to count for supper before we sugar ourselves up! ha!

We will be heading down March 3rd to March 10th staying at Riverside!! I would love to see everyone at the Yeehaw Bob meet. I've never seen him perform before.

I did the math on my trip and it actually came out $200 more with the buy 3 get one day free promo over the Spring Offer of the 30% off at BW

I also priced out CR and Poly which both were a better deal with the buy 3 get one free than the Spring Offer since CR was only 5% off and Poly 20%

We were originally booked with FD at CR which was slightly less than a 20% savings, not that good since it is only DH and myself. RO worked out better for us @ the 30% but we did have to change resorts

It sounded good and I think anyone hearing the announcement on NYE may have thought they were getting a "deal" if they had no clue about the Spring Offer out there. Disney is getting sneaky with their promos I think just like when they send out emails etc which are not discounts at all but rack rate.

We can wait we will be there 3/9 thru 3/16 staying and Bonnet Creek!!!

I'm certain OMD doesn't beat FD, but there's a few places where OMD might beat %RO. I can see people wanting to book a very specific resort, willing to pay rack for it, and it be full from other offers, so OMD would be their best option. And a PP said that it was the best option for their family. :woohoo:

And yes, people hear that it's a promotion and don't always know that it may not be the ONLY one out there and book thinking they're getting an amazing deal! :goodvibes But there are tons of people each month who go to WDW paying rack rate, who have no clue that there are deals out there (or truly don't care and just have that much money to waste ).

I am one who before finding the DIS paid full rack rate and was happy. Not knowing there were deals out there to be had :rotfl:

I can remember having already booked our trip, and seeing and hearing about special offers on TV , never knowing I could call and modify my reservation, thinking I was booked and it was a done deal. I am so glad I found the DIS :)

I have never "technically" paid rack rate before. My first trip was with AAA booking, so I saved a few dollars ... it was like 5 or 10% off rack for the room. :confused3 So that was better than nothing ... (and we weren't members at the time, so when you add in having to pay to become a member for the "special AAA price", it kind of washes out )

But the second trip, I went online to price it out, saw "special offers" at the bottom and clicked. Called AAA and asked for a quote, it was identical to the one I saw online, so I booked online. (I don't recall what the offer was.) Then in May, we stayed on FD. And now again we're booked on FD. :goodvibes

If it wasn't for me surfing the web and doing everything I could to get back, I probably wouldn't have found the special offers page and known about it. And that's what led me to being on the DIS (because I had to search to see if there were forums out there of people who were just as addicted as me). It all worked out wonderfully! :lmao:

Just to show what a dummy I was we have been members of AAA since 1977 or first trip to Disney was in 1989 and I never used them for a Discount :headache:

In 2009 we traveled with my DS and Ddil who works for ESPN and got a 50% discount on the room plus she got us into the parks for free plus discounts at the stores and food places, even 50% on tix for HDDR.
Now that my DS has passed I could probally ask her about the friends and family rates she can get but I decided just not to bother since I know in 2010 and 2011 she took her side of the family. I am one of those people who unless someone offers something to me I just don't bother asking.

On a much Happier Note Only 44 more days !:banana::banana:
