universal tickets - ap? Portofino or royal? family of 5

I'm a Disney girl and the universal website is a bit confusing... looking to go for 2 full days mayb a third... there are five of us... some places online it says the annual pass is cheaper than a regular ticket??? Help!

If you are only doing a 2 day stay with a possible 3rd day, tickets would be cheaper

Run the numbers for one adult to buy the preferred ap as they can get 10% discounts for food and merch to see how or if you would come out ahead financially

No idea of your dates so can’t comment if ap has value for room discounts
Hotel would need to be booked with aph rate for the discount

The lower end ap at the 4-5 day mark would be cheaper than buying a ticket for the parks

Since there are many different annual pass types with blockout dates, it really depends on when you are going and for how long that determines if an AP is a better deal for you.

Looking to go last week in august and i didn't see any black out dates so i thought the cheapest ap would be fine

If you have a mid afternoon or late flight out on day 3, might as well go for a 3 day park ticket

Or see if it will be cheaper to buy the seasonal pass for one adult and use that ap to buy discounted park tickets for the other 4 peeps

You can buy all 5 of you Undercover Tourist tickets now, and upgrade one to a seasonal AP (at least) the day before you check out.
