I'm travelling to florida in april for 3 days with my 2 daughters 8 and 2....we are definetly doing Magic Kingdom and Sea World but am having a hard time figuring out what to do with my 3rd day... Universal Studios or Hollywood Studios....Can't make up my mind....any suggestions???

I would suggest for Universal Studios. Outside the theme park, Universal City includes hotels Universal Hilton & Towers, the Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, a multi-screen theater and Universal CityWalk, which offers a collection of shops and restaurants, as well as the Gibson Amphitheatre, a concert venue. Fine destination.

Universal is considerably...larger. And a lot more involved. The lines at Universal are insane, compared to Disney, which has crowd control honed to a fine art.
There's definitely more to do at Universal, but you might get more *done* at DHS.

I have not yet been to Universal, but if your 2 yo is into Playhouse Disney, I would recommend Hollywood Studios. Mine loved Toy Sotry Mania, the Playhouse Disney Live show, the stunt shows and the Muppets 3D. And it is definitely do-able at a 2 year old's pace.

I would look at the cost to go to Universal for the day rather than going to Hollywood studios.

If you get a 3 day pass at Disney it will be cheaper than getting a 2 day pass at Disney and a one day pass at Universal.

Universal is about the thrill rides as well, so you may want to look at the rides online and see if there are rides you would want to go on, height requirements ( I know my 8 year old is really short and wouldn't be able to ride some of the rides)

Hollywood studios, has a lot of attractions that your 2 year old will be able to enjoy.

Do your research into the two parks and see which will work for you and compare the prices too.

It depends on what your daughters are into.

At Hollywood Studios, they have Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Beauty & the Beast shows which appeal to girls more than boys as well as Playhouse Disney.

At Universal/Islands of Adventure, they have Marval Island with all the superheros so this area is very popular with boys. The also have the Cat in the Hat area which is fun and on the Universal side, they have Jimmy Neutron.

I have a 5 year old boy who I took to Universal at age 3 and he loved it but I think that Universal/Islands of Adventure appeals more to boys than girls but it all depends on what your daughters are into.

I personally prefer Universal over Hollywood Studios but that is my personal opinion and I also have a son. Either place will be lots of fun.:dance3:

I too have to say Universal. Although I love Disney Studios, I just think that Universals theme is so much better. MIB, Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, Simpsons, ET just to name a few would be a treat for your kids.

I have to disagree with one poster who stated that the lines in Universal were worse than Disney. In the 9 times that I have been down there, the lines in Disney have been WAY worse than Universal. If you get to Universal early enough, you can get through the best part before lunch without really every waiting in line. I have never experienced this in Disney - EVER. The first hour of the morning may be ok, but it was a tactical job for all involved - i.e.: "Honey....I'll meet you at ToT while you go to RnR coaster and get fast passes for us so we won't have to wait as long in line". I have never had to do this EVER at Universal.

But, I guess it would be dependent on what your kids like. If your kids like super heroes, Dr. Suess or Harry Potter, than maybe the Islands of Adventure side at Universal would be their thing. If they are more like the rides I mentioned at the beginning, then maybe the Universal side is for them. But, if they are into Star Wars and princesses, then maybe stick with Disney. I will say this....my 14 year old step son will never go back to Disney. He LOVES Universal WAY too much now that he can go on all the rides!

I would say definitely Universal Studios. You really should see Harry Potter - it is the best thing I've ever seen!
