Hi everyone!

We are heading to Orlando in March and would like to take our two boys ages 4 and 2.

We are looking at the rides, etc. and it seems like it is very limited to what we can do as our 4 year old is about 40" and our two year old is only 33".

Does it really pay to go to Universal?

Has anyone visited this park with similar aged children?

Thank you in advance for your responses

I have taken kids of all ages. You are right that there are alot of rides that your kids cannot go on. But, Universal does have some rides and attractions that are very suited to small children. Both parks have a more "kiddie" themed area. At US, you have the Barney show, Curious George water play area, Woody Woodpecker coaster, etc. and ET is fine for little kids. My kids liked the Animal Actors show too. At IOA, there is the Seuss Landing, all appropriate for small kids. You would have to really think about if that is enough to justify the expense. While we certainly had fun with our younger children there, each trip has gotten better and better now that my youngest is 9. The rides at these parks can really shake you up. It's not like the Magic Kingdom where the whole family can go on almost everything. If you do decide to go, bring bathing suits for both parks for the kiddos. My little ones spent hours in the water play areas, although the one at IOA, (If I ran the Zoo) is quite small.

We're also going in March with a 2 and 4 year old. We see no problem in having a full day of things for them to do.

We are going with my boys who are 2 and 4 and also DD6, but since DS4 has no desire to ride anything even at Disney I am not too worried about him. He just likes to watch and I can't wait to see his expression when he spots Spiderman for the first time or WWoHP.:cool1:

We did our first trip with kids to US/IOA when they were barely 3 years old and 2 months old. The next trip was 3.5 years old and 9 months old. The most recent trip was 6.5, 3.5, and 11 months old. Despite the park being very empty, we didn't have time to do all we wanted to do at US. We stay in the parks until around dinnertime and they close at 6pm. We finished IOA easily in one day but not US.

I highly recommend doing the dining plan for the kids. It costs $10 a day for them - but $20 a day for the adults. It doesn't include drinks but you can go through certain counter service lines as much as you want. Since the kids meals are the same size as the adults, it's a great bargain for them. I'm not a huge eater, so $20 on lunch and dinner both for me is more than I spend. So, we just bought it for the kids and it saved us a lot of money even though we only went through the line twice - once for lunch and once for dinner.

My son's father took my son (1years old) and he said only one ride he was able to go on...but they were in the park all day...and my son came home chatting me up a storm like he had the time of his life...so I think there's alot to do just not alot of rides like at WDW...on their website they have like a checklist thing you can go through and they'll give you all the options of fun for your kikds
