Universal really doesn't know the origins of "Bloody Mary"?

Don't forget the beheaded Lady Jane and her beloved! You must see that movie!:yay:

Oh yes! How could I forget!
Man...When you go to the Tower you get this sense of "I really shouldn't be here" and chills. If Universal can re-create that, I will go to HHN.

And yes. Carey is...God-like.
"And unlike some Robins...I have an English accent!"popcorn::

Oooooh a Tower theme would be amazing!!

This is disappointing. While I'm probably one of the few who knows it origins...I would think Universal would do a little more research.

"Bloody Mary" refers to the English Queen Mary Tudor. She was queen before Elizabeth I, for those who didn't know. While her father, Henry VIII, established the church of England, Mary was a very strong Roman Catholic, much like her mother, Catherine of Aragon. When Henry VIII and Edward (don't remember what number he was) passed on, Mary succeed the them. The nation was turning from Catholic to Protestant because that's what the last two kings preached. When Mary took the throne, she declared the national religion was Catholic again. During the years of her reign, those who did not acknowledge Roman Catholicism as their faith, were executed in various forms, mostly burnings. This earned her the now infamous nickname of "Bloody Mary".

Now, as the whole "Say 'Bloody Mary' three times and she appears in the mirror"...I don't know how that started. But I'm sure with research, you'd be able to find it online.

Sorry if I got some facts wrong. It's too early yet. :surfweb:

You are not the only one! They teach me this at School, she was half sister with Elizabeth I, glad I wasn't the only one

Carey is...God-like.:

Like.... Buddah, god Like?

You know its a good thing I saw The Other Bolyn Girl and both Elizabeth movies or else I would have NO IDEA what you guys were talking about! Who can remember history from high school??

I actually find those stories really interesting and they were all dark and twisted back then so would def make a great horror story!

And oh yeah..no one has bood me yet either...:rolleyes1

little random, but anyone else think a parody of Man in the Mirror entitled Witch in the mirror, could be a humorus way to poke fun at the universal back drop

Quite possibly.

Awe man. Too bad Universal doesn't have the rights to the "Saw" movies. That would be an awesome scarezone.   :scared: :scared: :scared: :sad1:

Oh! And has anyone at Universal seen "Wicked!"? Elphaba does win! She gets the guy and gets to live reclusively happily ever after. Didn't get the shoes...but she got Fieyro. I'd take him over those silver shoes any day!!:lovestruc

Now if Mombi (I believe that's how you spell it) and the Gnome King one...Well...We saw how Oz was before Dorothy came to save it.

There is a movie coming on showtime at 10:15.....Urban Legends: Bloody Mary. It is described as a horror movie from 2005. It says 'A vengeful student who was murdered terrorizes a group of teenagers on prom night.' I am not going to watch it to see if it is similar to the description of Universal's Bloody Mary, I don't do scary movies.

All this talk about the actual "bloody Mary" has me all psyched. At this point, I will be so disappointed if they don't incorporate a Tudor family area to their Halloween event next year. And if they do incorporate it (hopefully one of us will actually write them a letter), I will fondly recall how we may have been the impetus for that.:grouphug:

Ugh. Me too...
Who wants to write a "strongly worded" letter to the Universal Creative team?

But I have an intense, debilitating phobia of writing "strongly worded" letters to Universal Studios concerning HHN. It is an extremely rare phobia, but very real nonetheless. I definitely cannot do it. It would hazardous to my health.;)
