Universal Plan Help

We have one day at Universal...we are there peak week...April 1. Trying to avoid FOTL...but may upgrade when there.
I have a car service picking us up in Disneyland at 7:30 am and we will stay to park close (I believe it's 9:00-9:00 that day).
Must do rides
Jurassic
Transformers
Minions
Simpsons
Backlot tour
Waterworld
And meeting the transformers for my son.

My kids are 6 and 8...first time at Universal. Lines typically don't bug me but I am wondering what order to try and do the above rides/shows. We should have the entire day there...car service will pick us up after the park closes...time is tbd by me

Though we went at a slower time, go to the lower level first and do all the rides there. Transformers first. Then go to the upper level and do the backlot tour and the rest of the rides and shows there.

I used to do the Lower Lot first as well, but I feel that the plan should change with Despicable Me now open.
What I did last 4th of July that worked out well was Despicable Me first since that usually has the longest line these days (as soon as you can, getting there at park opening would be optimal). Then The Simpsons since it's on the way to the Lower Lot. Then Transformers. Adults can do The Mummy after Transformers if you want.

If you have extra time, you can head to Jurassic Park, or you can check if it's time for any shows. Jurassic Park is a really fast moving line, lines shouldn't be more than 20 minutes even on the busiest days. Studio Tours are really empty around 4ish, but double-check when the last shuttle is.

USH is really a half-day park. If you're staying the entire time, you should have more than enough time to do everything multiple times. No real need to rush.
