Universal Park tickets

While booking our own flights and Hotel separately, what is the best deal to obtain Universal or any park tickets?
If the Hotel is on International Drive, will we need to rent a vehicule for the week? Just trying to get an idea on extra cost above and beyond the Hotel and Flights.

Best bet for most Orlando area tickets is Undercover Tourist. Universal does sometimes have the best deal directly on their site; be sure to check it out too. Disney is always cheaper at UT. Check out Mousesavers.com's monthly newsletter for an additional discount at UT.

Orlando is a car city. If staying offsite from Disney a car is almost mandatory. Check for parking fees at your hotel however. Disney and Uni parking are in the $15/day range. There is a transportation board here that will give some good tips on finding the best rate for a rental car, and if you are not in a peak period, there are great rental deals to be found.
