What happened with the strollers and ice?And the stroller limitations and no more ice. Saw that this morning.
As for the smoking, I am not sure. I was actually wondering if it is another attempt by disney to lower crowd numbers. Or maybe they just need more room inside the parks.
Whatever, it will not affect me or anyone in my group, but I can certainly see it making some people have second thoughts on visiting a park. And to be honest, if I smoked, I would probably be looking for somewhere else to go.
What happened with the strollers and ice?
Like ice cubes? That’s weird. I’ll have to search the stroller limitations. We JUST bought a stroller for our son so that’s going to be a bummer if Universal follows suit and we can’t use it. I think it’s technically an umbrella stroller, but not a little one.To prevent congestion in the future, Disney has banned bigger strollers in the parks and give specific measurements of limitations.
As well as banned "loose" and "dry" ice. As for the ice, there has not been official word, or reasoning for the ban, so that's up for debate on what the reason is.
I wish they were at least honest with themselves and others as to why they were doing it, as it has nothing to do with traffic control, as I know these smoking areas now due to my mother and they are secluded enough and would not cause congestion. If they were selling cigarettes, on top of the alcohol they now serve this wouldn't have happened.

$$$$Wow, so looking up specific information. All I can hear is cha-ching. Here's why.
"Strollers must be 31” wide and 52” long or smaller. Stroller wagons will not be permitted. Strollers are available for rent at Disney parks."
Also, I pulled up an article that did give explanation for the ice, as it states, "As of March 28, loose and dry ice is no longer allowed in Disney parks. Reusable ice packs are recommended. Cups of ice are available for free at food and beverage locations in the parks. The change was made to improve guest flow, according to the Disney website."
Now strollers, make sense, the ice is a total contradiction. If you have to stand in line in order to get it for free at food and beverage locations you therefore will be not improving guest flow, however you're creating more of a chance that someone will be desperate enough to what? Buy something to drink, or eat.

Disney cut smoking from its films, or most of them, years ago and smoking bans generally are on the rise, so that part doesn’t really surprise me The stroller thing is at least facially justifiable. But the ice is just weird and calls into question the “real” reason for the whole package of changes.Bingo! Which all goes back to one of my original statements: If they were selling cigarettes, on top of the alcohol they now serve this wouldn't have happened.

Could be! I’d like to see Disney’s press release though because the link between banning loose ice and improving traffic flow, as the articles are reporting, isn’t intuitive. However, they didn’t say you can’t freeze bottles of water or anything, which is good if you can’t have ice cubes for drinks.I don't think the ice thing is weird.
I imagine it has to do with the security line. Maybe ice has been spilled (and then melts). Maybe those dollar store soft sided coolers I see people with was dripping water everywhere.
I say this because it said you can use those refreezable ice thingys. It is only loose ice you can't have.
