Well we just got back on Saturday from our Orlando/cruise vacation. The very first part of our vacation was Universal Orlando, where we stayed one night at the Royal Pacific Resort. We arrived at about 2 pm and were given the keys to our room, which had a great view of Hogwarts! Check in was easy and Kris answered all of our questions. When we inquired about a late check out the next day, he arranged for a 12:30 checkout, which was just what we needed.

We arrived at Universal Studios at about 3:00 pm, after a very short walk from the hotel. The Express Pass was absolutely amazing and allowed us to see the entire park by 7:00. We did Terminator 2:3D, Dispicable Me, Shrek, the Simpsons Ride, the Mummy x2, Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket x2, Men in Black, Disaster, ET, and met Bumblebee and Megatron. We both found Disaster to be a little boring but loved everything else-just wish Transformers had been open!

Favourite Ride: The Mummy

The next day we were at the park at 7:45 for early entry to WWOHP. Forbidden Journey and Dueling Dragons were walk ons..we did DD 3times, and took our time taking pictures in the area, we were still done before 9 am. We did Spiderman, Dr. Doom's Fearfall, the Hulk x2, Popeye x2, Dudley Do Right x2. Would have done Jurassic Park but it was closed. We were completely finished the park by noon.

Favourite Ride: Forbidden Journey & the Hulk

One thing that impressed me about Universal was the DSA's. They were very nice, clean, picnic tables, shaded areas, etc. They had Disney beat for that for sure. Wasn't crazy on the food at Universal, but I don't go for the food! I would definitely go back on my next trip to Orlando, especially once Transformers and the new part of WWOHP opens!

Ah - the power of the Express Pass. Sounds like a great time - thanks for writing it up.

Sounds like you had a great time. Thanks so much for telling us about it!

I keep searching threads and we are also looking at doing what you did. We will have 1.5 days before cruise... Glad to see it is doable....did you enjoy the hotel pool? Or no time? Then did you stay somewhere else the night before the cruise? Decisions decisions... Thanks

We're visiting the same time this year - how were the lines for people without express passes? We're debating an onsite stay, but not sure.
