Universal/IOA May Park Hours

I've just looked at the May park hours, and very disappointed at how early IOA closes. Wed 7th May - Friday 9th May. On the Wednesday and Thursday, IOA closes at 7pm, and on the Friday both parks close at 6pm! Is this usual for May, or are there private events on? Thanks

Gradventure is listed on the Universal site for 9th and 16th May, starting at 7pm, so I assume that's why both parks close at 6pm.
