Universal in August

We are thinking about going to Universal the first week of August. We live in the Tampa Bay area so we can go anytime, but we thought we would actually go without having to take our son out of school and so that we could spend some time there and not have to rush. We were thinking of staying at the RPR so I want to know how much better will the trip be at that time with the FOTL access? How long do those lines get during the summertime?

Thanks for any help.

We went last year first week of August and it was not too bad. I do suggest the RpR though if you can afford it. We didnt wait longer then 15 mins with Fotl.

I agree with Jonny...if you can stay onsite, do it! You won't be sorry.

since you live in florida, you are already aware of the weather.

if you stay on site, you can go back to the on site hotel and use the pool to relax.

you might be there on the night the hotel has the dive in movie.
it's really a lot of fun and they only show family type of movies.

hopefully, you will be able to book with a floridian resident rate for the hotel.

Definitely stay onsite if you can in August! We've gone two years in a row in August and this year we'll be there in July. With FOTL, you can do all you want to and then some. It's invaluable in the summer when the lines are long and hot. You can do a lot of rides in the morning and then it's so close to just run back to the hotel for a nice swim in the hot afternoon, then back to the parks in the evening or stroll along City Walk. I don't think I'd go in the summer without FOTL any more. I'm spoiled! Have fun. :thumbsup2
