Universal hotel- what shall i do?

We aren't going until next Feb (8-18) and although we are staying near Seaworld we want to book one night at a Universal on site hotel. The on line prices have just been released and I can get HRH for 177 dollars plus tax for the 2 of us. (2 queens, garden view). This is the cheapest of the 3 (we aren't bothered which hotel as its our first time). Shall i book now or will I get a better rate later? I thought it was not a bad rate looking at last years posted rates but every penny saved would be good. However I would be gutted if we didn't get to stay on site!

Edit went back into site 15 mins later and its now saying 244 dollars what's going on?

Book it direct with loews, and if a cheaper rate comes up on their site just phone and either change to the cheaper rate or to the cheaper resort , and cancel the original booking.

I agree book direct and also it's worth Joining the AA cheapest they do and you can tap in to the AAA rates in America this is good for Hotel rooms and discounts in stores restaurants etc. We have only stayed at RPR and it normally works out the cheapest of the 3 can definately recommend staying onsite and sometimes it is even worth going club level for 1 night as you can check in early go up and grab some breakfast go to the parts come back 5-7 lovely wine and beer and really nice snacks generally 2 hot dishes plus cheese and crackers nachos etc then at 9 desserts and of course free sodas hot drinks throughout the day and stay 1 night and you can do it all again on the 2nd day up to midnight Might be worth looking in to it

We've booked a night at RPR for the early entry etc. Do you think that if I phoned they would apply the AAA discount to our booking or is it too late?

You can have it applied up to 5 days prior to arrival, i think, but not 100% that you also you can have rates applied as long as you do it before arrival day, as long as they still have rooms at the discounted rate

I have tried the AAA discount on the website, but it doesn't give any better discounts than the best available rate for the dates I tried.

But it is a good tip about AA membership - I had forgotten you can get international discounts, and hadn't realised they were linked to the AAA.

You need to call reservations for TripleA rates, they do not show on their website

Just wanted to let you know that I phoned reservations yesterday to see if I could apply the discount for AA membership. Not a problem, I got a 10% discount and an updated e-mail confirmation showing the discount. I just have to show them our membership card on arrival! Couldn't have been easier!
