Hi there!

I'm planning to go to Universal Hollywood on July 4th this year (its the only day I can go). I'm expecting it to be busy so I'm planning accordingly. Our car rental is for 7:30 AM and we will be driving from Anaheim to Universal. Can anyone give me an idea of how long the drive would be? I read without traffic it could be anywhere from 45-60 mins. I don't know how much to add for July 4th.

Also if anyone has been to the park on July Fourth can you give an idea for average wait times? There aren't that many rides there so I would hope we can do them all but there is also the new Walking Dead attraction which might attract even more crowds.

Lastly has anyone heard anything about any grand opening for the Walking Dead attraction? Like if any of the cast is going to be there because then I'm pretty sure the park would be insanely crowded.

Thanks in advance! Also if this isn't the right spot to post this please feel free to move to the correct spot :)

July 4, leaving Anaheim at around 8AM the trip should take 40 to 60 minutes.

The average wait times on July 4 are between 20 and 70 minutes. Since Universal doesn't do any fireworks the crowds tend to thin out in the evening as people leave to see fireworks elsewhere. You should be able to do all the rides.

There will be small Grand Opening ceremony but no cast members are scheduled to attend.

Thanks so much for the info! I also read that there are single rider options for Mummy, Transformers and Jurassic so hopefully well at least be able to go on those twice.
