Universal Gift Cards?

I see that Kroger sells gift cards for Universal and I thought I might pick up some now & then for us to use this summer. I checked the Universal website and it says that they can be used toward dining, merchandise, room payment, etc. at the Universal Studios Resorts. So I'm assuming I can use them INSIDE of US & IOA for food & merchandise, but what about at the hotel resturants and the Citywalk resturants. Can I use them there too?

Has anyone used them and if so, can you share your experiences. Thanks.

Not sure about the ones at Krogers.But I just used some that I got off the Universal website .I used them last week for shopping and TS restuarants in the parks.I did not try to use them at the food carts

Thanks. I'm really more curious about whether or not they can be used to eat the hotels....HRH, PBH, RPH and at the places in CityWalk. Hoping someone will come along & comment

I'm just guessing here but I would think you could not use it outside the parks since Universal doesn't own the hotels or restaurants in CityWalk. But...there may be some agreement with those establishments. Again...just a guess.

the system they had before was the universal money.
this gift card set up is much better.

They started selling them in late November on the Universal website. I purchased some and we used most of them for souvenirs and such, but I also used some at Hard Rock at check out.
Tip: you can "reload" the gift cards at some Universal stores, including the Universal Store in US. Beware, the process was still new to the agents and they had a few issues getting my cards to properly accept the reloads, so keep your receipts!

Oh yeah that's what it was. I remember it sounding like a PITA and when we were getting ready for vaca just asking people to give the kids disney cards instead. I really think this is very smart because now the kids will probably end up with equal amounts of spending money when we go to the parks
