Universal First-Timers . . . Are Halloween Horror Nights Less Busy During the Day?

Hi all! We're experienced Disney-goers branching out to Universal for the first time on our upcoming September trip. We're only interested in Harry Potter-related rides/theming, and it's just my mom and I going for one day, staying at a Disney resort.

Their Halloween Horror nights begin during our trip. We have no interest in attending, but I'm wondering if it would be smart to plan our Universal day on a Horror night, following the same logic as with MNSSHP that guests won't choose to visit the park on a day it closes early, so maybe crowds will be lower. We'll get in at park open, do our thing, and leave before Horror night starts. Thoughts?

If you are doing the parks M-Th during the first week hhn opens, no big day crowds

If your stay is during opening hhn weekend, many peeps will hit the parks around 3 to do rides and wait for hhn to open that evening

Crowds build for hhn on the Columbus Day weekend

Some park guests do IOA and avoid hhn completely

If you have P2P, you could start at the Studios and moved to IOA around 3 that day in the park if it is a hhn date

Thanks! It is during opening weekend, bit the date we're looking at is a Thursday. We weren't planning on staying late anyway, so maybe we could plan to be done around 3.
